Beware of fraudulent home appliance schemes!

I received a rather dodgy call claiming to be from a home appliance coverage company. The chap seemed to know all my personal information, which was alarming enough. Yet, he then asked me what brand of washing machine I own?! Quite baffling, if he was indeed representing the company that supposedly intended to send me a letter regarding my appliance cover. Some people really need to rethink their scams!

A young chap contacted me, purporting to be affiliated with my wife's telephone provider. It was evident that he wasn’t genuine. He inquired whether I was satisfied with my mobile service. Given the uncertain nature of his call, I expressed my scepticism regarding his motives and promptly ended the conversation. Quite out of character for me, I decided to ring back, particularly as the number looked like a legitimate UK one. I was greeted by a rather brief recorded announcement, stating it was linked to 'market research' - nothing more! I certainly won’t be engaging with any surveys or services associated with that number, not a chance!

I've tried calling this number twice now, but there's nobody picking up on the other side.

Received a call that claimed to be from BT, informing me that my direct debit was set to “expire” at the month's end. They went on a spiel about how they could assist me, but I decided to end the conversation and promptly blocked the number.
