There’s always this weird pause when they speak, sounds like they’re coming through some sort of dodgy router. I reckon they must be calling from abroad and masking it with a London number to seem legit. We never catch what the offer is, so we just hang up straight away. Recently, we got ourselves one of those call guardian phone things and blocked all the numbers we recognised. Honestly, it’s been a bloody miracle - no more calls from them at all!

Called at 16:15 today, but there was this awkward quiet gap before they actually spoke - definitely some auto dialler going on. When the person finally came through, they said something like "accident helpline, you were in an accident last year, right?" I cut them off straight away to stop the hassle.

So this bloke rings me saying he’s from some government claims team. First thing he did was ask my name, then goes on about how the government supposedly issued them a cheque worth £6000. He reckoned I use a big bank and said I’d get this cheque by Monday. I told him it was odd because I don't actually have a bank account. He kept insisting I must have one, but I explained I’m bankrupt and have none. After that, he just cut the call. Guess that cheque isn’t coming then?

A bloke rang me claiming he was from some government claims department. He said I'd been allocated a cheque for £3,000 that'd be sent out today. But before that, he needed to ask me a couple of questions to make sure I was the right person. First up, he asked for my date of birth (so I just made one up). Then he wanted my bank details. I told him there's no way I’m sharing that info over the phone, and he just ended the call straight away.
