Got a call from someone saying he was Henry at Amazon about my iPhone 16 order which I never made. He claimed he had to protect my Amazon account and when I asked, he said he’s based in London, somewhere on 81 Newgate Street. Oddly enough, he just ended the call suddenly.

A mate at the office got a call from 02074036938, sounded just like those other scams people keep talking about. They said something about payments being held up on a trip to China, linked to Amazon or something. When I questioned him about it, he got pretty irate and insisted he was with Visa, claiming he worked out of Newgate Street here in London.

Somebody rang me up sayin I needed to download an app and log into my account using Google Chrome so they could put £40 in. When I started asking questions, the guy - who sounded Indian but had an English name - got all annoyed. I told him off for talking to me like that and asked what his job was, he said something about being a manager for Amazon Prime accounts. Then he kept pushing me to log in on Chrome again, but I told him no and hung up. They’ve tried calling me a few more times since then.

Got a call earlier from 06974 177147, this person said they were from Amazon Secure services at 81 Newgate Street London. They said someone charged £1000 on my Amazon account. When I asked for a proper number to call back, they just hung up. Watch out for these Modern Times scammers.

07910988040. Said he was from Visa Security and gave some address like 81 Newgate St London. Got really hostile when I questioned him, ended up swearing at me and calling me all sorts of names. Not exactly what I'd expect from Visa staff, if you ask me!

Got a call from a guy speaking with a Pakistani accent, saying someone had taken £300 out of my Visa card. He said he was from 81 Newgate Street in London. I wasn’t convinced at all and ended the call straight away. The number he called from was 01392691316.

Got a phone call earlier from some bloke named Alan Cooper - his worker ID was VT0907 or something. He claimed he worked at 81 Newgate Street and rang from 02081441295. He told me my bank card got compromised and £600 was sent to China! Apparently, it happened online (I checked 1471, and it gave me his actual number as 00491478739950).

Got a call from 00347912144995, then got passed on to someone called Daniel Wiliams. He rang me back on my mobile from 01375583514 claiming to be from 81 Newgate St. I was a bit iffy about it, so I checked with my bank, lucky really. Dodged that £600 scam going to California. What a relief!

Some bloke named Brendan Simon rang me, sounded like he had a strong Indian accent, really hard to follow what he was saying. He said he worked for BT with employee ID DEXT01993. Gave me a number to call, 02071937218, mentioned he was at 81 Newgate Street. Weirdly enough, he repeated my own address back to me but stuffed up the IP address he gave.

Got a ring from 07904 876668, an Indian bloke claiming he was from Amazon Prime and said he was at 81 Newgate Street, which as far as I know is BT’s main office right now. I asked him how he could prove he really worked for Amazon and he just gave me my name. Then when I asked for proof he was actually in London, he just ended the call.

Got a ring from an Indian bloke claiming my Amazon Prime had been hacked. I told him I don’t even have an account with them, but he kept going on about charging me £39 every month unless I let him into my computer. When I asked for his number, he gave me one - 44 17 93 59 96 31 - but said it was just for making calls, not to receive any. He also said he was at 81 Newgate St London. I cut the call straight away, no way was I falling for it.

This morning, on Sept 5, I got a call that sounded pretty much the same. The guy had an Indian accent and was hard to understand. He said his name was “Danial Jones” with some ID like D7D062 and mentioned BTUK 54210C. He gave the address as BT Technical, 81 Newgate Street, London. He was saying my phone line was being misused in Pakistan or somewhere. I told him straight up I’m not into taking calls from strangers like that. Seems odd BT wouldn’t find better methods to reach customers, right???

Got a call today from an Asian bloke claiming his name was Steve Martin! He said he was from 81 Newgate Street, London, and gave some staff number like Bt860073. The number he used was 190247 2594. When I told him I'd call the police if someone was messing with my internet, like he said, he asked me not to because apparently police wouldn't care. Then he got annoyed and started calling me stupid. Managed to keep him talking for around 10 minutes. Just so you know, I’m not even with BT.

I got a call from a bloke with an accent claiming he was from BT, saying my internet had problems and if I didn’t do what he said, they’d cut me off. Thing is, I’m not even a BT customer, but these calls keep coming and it’s driving me mad. The number he rang from was 01562862292. As always, they want me to be on my computer doing whatever they tell me. He said his name was something like Kevin Sharpe, but I couldn’t catch it all properly, and gave me a number to ring back - 02086388177.

Got a call from an Asian guy saying my phone and internet were about to be cut off. He couldn’t say who the provider was or the account name, so I kept messing him about. He said I was too clever for him. Then I asked for his employee ID, and he just hung up. Managed to keep him talking for like 7 minutes.

Got a call from some bloke called Daniel saying he was from the Windows Tech Support. Usual nonsense about my PC having viruses and needing to log in to fix it. I asked him for my computer’s IP address and he just guessed something wrong. He said he was at 81 Newgate Street, London but couldn’t even say what tube station’s nearby. Kept him on the line for about 12 mins!

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming he was from IBM saying my computer had a virus. He gave me an address in London, 81 Newgate Street, and said the supervisor was some Henry Ford, funny enough. The number he gave was 201914737, but he called me from 2894422503. I told him my hubby works in IT and we definitely don’t have any problems with our PC. He tried to argue back saying he’s got 25 years experience and knows better, but I just ended the call.

Had a call from an Asian gentleman claiming he was with IBM, saying my computer had a virus. He gave me an address on 81 Newgate Street, London, and said the boss is Henry Ford lol. He gave his phone number as 201914737, but called from 2894422503. I told him my husband is an IT guy and there’s no problem with our PC. He kept going on about his 25 years experience, thinking he knew better. I just ended the call there.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from BT, mentioning some place called 81 Newgate Street. The number on my phone showed as 02787648338. She said something about my internet being changed from private to public. When I asked for more info, she just ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were with British Telecom, threatening to cut off my internet. I asked them where they were calling from and they said 81 Newgate Street London. Then he started insulting me, calling me stupid and telling me to listen. I told him he was lying and asked what the weather was like in London right now, then he just hung up on me.

Had a call from an Asian lady today who said she was ringing from BT at 81 Newgate Street, London. But my phone showed a Newcastle number instead, 0191 460 6232, which I'm sure is a Newcastle code. Apparently our computer is riddled with viruses! This woman is really annoying since it’s not the first time they’ve phoned. What's more, when I tried ringing back, the number didn’t even go through. Proper fishy if you ask me.

I didn’t trace the phone number but instead looked into an email from a really suspicious address… it said something like “your TVL Service is ending soon and your info doesn’t match.” They wanted me to update my details. No idea what TVL even means and the name they used isn’t the same as what shows up on Google (they say it’s BT?). Seems like they just grabbed a real address but there’s no chance they’re legit!! Be careful if you see anything from 81 Newgate Street, London!

Annie Helson rang me from BT claiming someone’s trying to hack my account. I’m always aware it’s a scam, but I play along to kill time. I asked her how I could be sure she’s legit, and she gave me an address at 81 Newgate St, London and a security code to verify. Still, she pushed me to go online. I told her she might still be trying to scam me and that I’d ring BT myself, then she hung up.

Today, I got a call from an Asian guy claiming someone was misusing my IP from California to do illegal stuff. When I asked where he was calling from, he said “81 Newgate Street London.” I looked up that address and it’s actually BT’s location. That seemed pretty sketchy to me, especially since I don’t even have a BT account.

I got a call from an Asian bloke saying he was from BT, the number on my phone showed as 01793 872931. I asked where his office was and he said 81 Newgate Street, London. I asked if he was calling me from there, and he said yes. Then I mentioned it was odd because the number on my phone didn’t look like a London one, and he just hung up. My husband’s had a few calls like this before, and since he knows a lot about computers, he usually asks them to tell him which IP address has the issue. They never seem to be able to answer. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent claiming he was from BT at 81 Newgate Street London, using numbers 01881567616 and 02508922276. He told me my router had issues and asked me to switch on my computer so he could walk me through fixing it. I asked a few questions, but he just ignored them. I told him my computer was updating and I couldn’t stay on the line, then he said he’d call back in 30 minutes. I decided to look into it first. Has anyone else had this? Cheers.

Got a call from 02032893669, bloke said he was from BT in London, rang around 4:20pm. When I asked him the time in London, he took ages, like 3 minutes, before giving me the wrong time. Another number they called from was 00185934150. He threatened to disconnect my internet if I didn’t let him sort my PC. I just told him to do it - internet’s still working fine.

Some bloke called 'Alan Williams' claiming he was from BT's tech team about issues with my internet. When I asked for his direct line, he gave me BT's general customer service number, 0800 111 4567. Thing is, I’m not with BT and my internet is working fine anyway, so I just ended the call.
