Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC. It was a recorded message and the grammar was all over the place - sounded really dodgy.

I got a call from a different number but it was the same kind of message, so they're definitely using loads of different numbers. It was one of those automated warnings saying legal action would be taken. Claimed to be from the tax office. I never pick up when I don’t know the number and it went straight to voicemail anyway. I’ve blocked it now, but I can imagine this really scary for older people or anyone more vulnerable. This kind of thing really needs to be dealt with quickly. The number was 0203 289 0686.

This morning my mum got a call from this number threatening her that if she didn’t pay up soon, she’d be arrested for fraud. They gave her just two hours to pay over the phone!! They even claimed the police would be at her door in 45 minutes to take her away. These kinds of calls are awful, please make sure you report them so no one else gets scammed or pressured like this!

They told me my case was being dealt with in the High Court today and that an arrest warrant would be issued. Now I realise it’s a total scam, even though they never asked me for any payment.
