I've been getting quite a few unsolicited calls purporting to be from EON about our account - one of the numbers used is 01142548172. They keep asking for details related to our account as well as the meter numbers that we’ve reported to EON. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I've been inundated with more than 40 phone calls in just one week from a so-called Opus Gas. Clearly, they’re aware that my contract is up for renewal, but I've already moved my business to a different gas supplier. The callers have been incredibly rude, often hanging up abruptly and accusing my team of being dishonest when they say I’m unavailable. I've escalated this matter to my new energy provider, who will be taking a closer look at this phone number. They've advised me to ignore any calls from them going forward - sound advice if you ask me!

Received a call from a bloke who seemed to be based in an Indian call centre, claiming to be associated with my electricity account to discuss some renewal matters. Strangely, he could provide the metre number-which, mind you, is findable online from any source-but when it came to revealing the actual company name or my account number, or even the renewal date, he was completely stumped. Definitely a dodgy operation!

I just had one of those classic nuisance calls that I seem to get far too often. A woman, presumably from an Indian call centre, was rambling on about wanting to discuss our electricity account with British Gas, addressing the supposed Business Manager. Having dealt with these irritating calls numerous times before, I immediately sensed the spammy undertone. I firmly declined to transfer her, and when she pressed me for a reason, I simply stated there was no one available to speak with her. She hung up quicker than you could say "scam."
