Got a call from this number earlier today. Didn't answer, but I looked it up afterwards. Turns out it’s a total scam! These folks are just terrible!

I got a call from someone who said they got my number off Dell's support files, saying there were error messages coming from my laptop. They asked if I had a service plan with Dell. I told him to ring back in about 10 minutes. Luckily, I stumbled upon these reviews before calling back - definitely best to avoid these kinds of dodgy callers.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse about renewing my contract. Ended up losing £50 to what I’m pretty sure was a scam. Be careful with these calls!

I got a call from someone saying they were from Carphone Warehouse. Funny thing is, I’d actually spoken with the genuine Carphone Warehouse the day before, so I didn’t think much of it at first. Then they started asking for my full card number, which set alarm bells off straight away. I hung up and blocked the number, but they kept ringing back from a couple of different numbers. Why is it always voices with an Indian accent doing these dodgy calls?

I can't believe I've been hit with a 50 quid bill just for calling back the same 0203 number. Honestly, why don’t these lot sort themselves out with a proper job or something? Bit harsh, but seriously, sometimes you just wanna say, go catch COVID or something. Ridiculous!

Got an email from some UK tech support folks saying if I don't ring them back, they'll charge me £249 for a renewal tomorrow. I rang just to check and quickly saw it was a con since I haven’t got any direct debit with them. Ended the call straight away. If you get a similar email, best to ignore it and not call!

I’m pretty sure tech support calls are just a scam. They somehow got my nickname and email from Facebook, which is the only place I use that name, and used it to contact me. So seriously, make sure your Facebook settings are locked down tight and maybe get rid of that email if you can.

I just got an email from some UK tech support guys saying my subscription ends on 2nd October and if I want to cancel, I need to call 020 3097 1954. It felt a bit dodgy to me since I don't even have any virus protection. Definitely avoid calling them!

It's definitely a rip off. They try to get you to let them control your computer when you ring them. I played along for a bit to see how shameless they could be and honestly, they're total scammers. You can tell right away from how poor the call sounds and the noise in the background. Don’t bother ringing back. Just bin the email.

Exact thing happened to me. Got an email about a renewal for some service I’ve never even signed up for. So, I looked up the number and found tons of people complaining about the same scam. Totally bogus.

What a complete rip off. I got an email claiming my subscription would automatically renew on October 1st, telling me I didn't have to do a thing since it was set up for auto-renewal. I honestly have no clue what they're on about and maybe it was a mistake to ring the number provided - it just cut out straight away. Fingers crossed this doesn't cause me any trouble later on.

I got an email that looked just like the others, coming from the same number. When I checked the sender’s address, it showed up as [email protected][###]. I didn’t bother replying or calling back because last week I had a similar thing happen. Someone rang my landline pretending to be from Sky Broadband, trying to hack into my PC and bank details. I’ve already passed all the info to Police Scotland.

SCAM ALERT!!! Got a message on Sat, 19 Sep at 08:11 about my UK Tech Support Protection Plan supposedly renewing on 19 Sep 2020. It said my account would be charged automatically the next day since it’s on auto-renew, and no action was needed from me. They even thanked me and wished me a great day. If I wanted to cancel, they told me to ring 020 3097 1954. The email said it was automatic so replying wouldn’t cancel anything. Definitely a dodgy scam to watch out for!

I got an email claiming to be from UK Tech Support. It said my membership for their protection plan was due to renew on 17th September 2020 and that my account would be charged automatically the next day. They said no action was needed from me and thanked me for my support. They also gave a number, 020 3097 1954, saying I could call to cancel if I wanted. Got an email today saying it was a reminder about an auto payment. It was from some tech support or something, telling me my maintenance contract would renew on September 17, 2020. They said they’d automatically take the payment the next day, the 18th, and that I didn’t need to do anything if I wanted it to go ahead. But if I wanted to stop it and not get charged, they want me to ring them at 020 3097 1954 between 10am and 4pm. The email said it was sent automatically, so if I replied, it wouldn’t cancel the contract or anything. Quite annoying, not even sure who it’s really from!

Got an email this morning titled "Auto Debit Notice". It said something like, "Dear Customer, Your Tech Support Maintenance Contract will renew on 17th September 2020, and since your account is on auto-renew, the payment will go through on 18th September. No need to do anything." The message also mentioned that if I wanted to cancel and dodge the charge, I should call them on 020 3097 1954 between 10am and 4pm. They also warned not to reply to the email because it won't cancel the contract as it’s an automated message. Bit fishy if you ask me, but that was what they said.

Got this email out of the blue from some dodgy-sounding address, saying my UK Tech Support Protection Plan will renew on 17th September 2020. It claims they’ll take the payment automatically on the 18th unless I call 020 3097 1954 to cancel. The weird thing is the email says don’t reply because it’s system generated, and the sender’s name doesn’t match the company’s. Not addressed to me personally either. Feels super sketchy - definitely ringing alarm bells. Wouldn’t trust it for a second!

No action needed on my part, they just wanted to keep me informed. Cheers for that and thanks for the ongoing support! Looks like a dodgy email to me - it turned up in my work inbox, and I never use that email for anything like subscriptions or tech stuff. It was some sort of auto-renewal notice saying my UK tech support plan would renew on 15th September 2020, with a charge on 16th September 2020, and that no action was needed unless I wanted to cancel. They even gave a phone number: 020 3097 1954 to call to stop it. Felt off, so I didn’t bother with it. Could be a scam, so watch out!

Got a message about a uktechsupport auto renewal coming up on 16th September, but I’ve no clue about having any tech support from them or anyone else for that matter. I tried replying to their email asking for details about this so-called tech support, but I reckon it’s one of those addresses that don’t actually accept replies. I’m really wary about calling the number they’ve put down to cancel it - sounds dodgy to me, like a trick to get me to spend money just by ringing. Feels like a pretty sketchy scam to me.
