Received a call this morning around 10 o'clock. My wife picked up the phone and spoke with a chap who had an Indian accent. He mentioned he was from BT Internet and had some news regarding our computer, but she couldn’t quite grasp what he was on about. She’s not very tech-savvy, so she decided to end the conversation and hang up.

Got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent saying he was from BT about my internet. He asked when I last used it, but I told him I don’t have internet at all. He just went quiet, said “oh”, and then hung up on me.

Got a call from a guy pretending to be from BT about some problem with my broadband’s security. He said he needed to ‘update’ something and started going on about it. He was an Indian bloke who got a bit pushy, even begged me not to hang up. Didn’t even know my name, and tried to say he understood why I was suspicious because of all the scams out there. Yeah, sure, this one smells fishy! Definitely watch out for calls like this!

I got a call and when I answered, all I heard was a recorded message saying “goodbye!” Strange!

It was so believable and sounded really clear. I rang BT afterwards and they confirmed it was a scam - they said I supposedly had issues with my broadband.

When I picked up, there was nobody on the other end, just a robotic voice that finally said “goodbye” before hanging up!

At first, there was just silence, then they kept saying ‘hello’ like they couldn’t hear me. After a bit, they just ended the call.

At 2:32pm on 15th January 2018, I picked up but all I got was a quick ‘bye’ and then they hung up. No one talked.
