This number popped up on my phone with a spam warning. Turns out, it was actually a spam call.

27 June 2023. I chose not to pick up the call since Bitdefender flagged it as a potential scam. They hung up without leaving a voicemail.

Some bloke called saying he was from Microsoft Reading, working on the 16th floor of building 2. But there’s no way there’s that many floors in that building. So I decided to mess with him a bit. Asked which computer he was working on, which totally threw him off coz it wasn’t what he was expecting. After about 10 minutes of him stammering and trying to get back on track, I just dropped the call. Pretty sure it was just some call centre somewhere in India. Classic scam.

Some bloke rang up saying he was from Microsoft, telling me my PC was hacked and at risk of scams. I just said I'd give Microsoft a bell myself to check, then he dropped the call.

Someone rang me saying they were from Microsoft in Reading, claiming to be on the 16th floor of building number 2. Total load of rubbish since the building doesn’t even go that high. So, I decided to mess with the guy a bit. I asked him what sort of computer I was using and he seemed completely lost, clearly not expecting that question. After about ten minutes of him babbling and trying to stick to his script, I just ended the call. Pretty sure it was just some call centre in India. :-)

Just got a call from 01997617606 and when I answered, no one spoke and then the line went dead. Had a look at other people’s comments and it seems like this number is from Strathpeffer, Scotland. Honestly, with all these scams these days, I’m absolutely fed up. How many more are there gonna be?

Got a call today from someone pretending to be from EE, saying there was a special discount waiting for my next bill. They wanted me to provide some info so they could sort it out. When I asked them for their name and date of birth to verify, the call just ended abruptly. Obviously a scam!

This number, 01997617606, gave me a call but I couldn’t make out what the woman on the other end was trying to say. When I told her that, she just kept insisting I listen. Honestly, she was so rude that I just hung up straight away.

I've received numerous calls from this number today, and to top it off, they left a voicemail with nothing but silence. Quite odd, really!

Fraudsters at it again, masquerading as Amazon Prime agents.

So, I got a call from some number, asked them straight up which company they were with, but honestly couldn’t catch what they were mumbling. When I pressed for what the call was about, they mentioned something to do with a big mobile provider and helping save on bills. I told them I wasn’t interested at all. Then the person on the line sounded all annoyed and said I was wasting their time. Kinda odd since they were the ones who rang me first, then just hung up out of nowhere.

This supposed Curry's PC World rep claims I've snagged some prizes for being their 42nd customer or something ridiculous like that! I mean, really? For starters, I’m not even with O2! What on earth is going on?

Got a call from someone saying they were with Currys trying to pitch a mobile phone deal. I just said no thanks and ended the call straight away. Blocked the number after that.

Answered the phone and just said hello, no one replied and after around ten seconds the call just ended quietly. Then, about three minutes after that, I got a call from 028 91631003, which they say is from Bangor in Co Down, Ireland. Problem is, I don’t know anyone in Ireland or Scotland, so it’s quite odd. My phone hardly ever gets calls, so this was pretty strange.

My mobile buzzed but when I answered, no one said a word. I hung up after a bit and then decided to block the number. It wasn’t really harassing, more just irritating, but since there’s no option for that, I had to mark it as harassment.

I rang the number back to see who it was, but just got an old-fashioned dial tone, so I’m guessing it was probably some kind of scam.
