Received a dubious phone call from someone purporting to be with O2, but it was obvious they weren't genuine. They were after my account details. Quite dodgy!

Yesterday I got three calls from the same number. I’m not tied into any contract with O2, and when I told the caller I wasn’t interested in buying anything, she said she wasn’t trying to sell me anything. I told her to ring someone else because I was quite busy, and then she just ended the call. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Got two calls from them so far. The first one was about EE rewards or some deal, but I’m not even an EE customer or on any contract. I told them straight I’m not with EE and I’m not interested. Then today they rang again and before the guy spoke, I could hear some choking or someone struggling in the background. The man said he was from EE, but I just ended the call right away.

They called me like 4 times but just hung up each time.

When I picked up, the call just got cut off straight away. What was odd is my phone said the caller was from Edinburgh but this website showed the origin as Strathpeffer. Then, not long after, I got another call from a Strathpeffer number which I didn’t bother answering. Looks like if they can’t reach you from one place, they’ll try ringing from somewhere else. The second number was 01313582476.

Got a call from some bloke claiming I was on O2 and that I owed £180 for leaving them, which isn’t true at all as I’m not even with O2. I just hung up straight away. Definitely a scam!

Had trouble hearing properly because there was a ton of noise from what sounded like a call centre in the background. They said they were calling from EE Rewards.

I picked up and there was just silence on the other end, which was a bit disappointing since I was ready to mess with the scammer. I’d seen a few other sites saying this number is probably linked to scams too.

I answered the phone and it just went silent right away. Didn’t hear a word from whoever it was. I only picked up cause the number looked like one I’ve seen before. Seems like a scam trying to check if the line’s active. Now I guess I’m just going to end up on their call list, which is so annoying. :(
