Got a call saying it was from Amazon, but totally felt like a scam to me. Be careful, folks!

Got a call from 01980624595 on the morning of 19/11/2023 around 9.30am. A robotic woman’s voice came on saying it was Amazon Prime and there was a £350 charge being made. She told me to press 1 straight away if I wanted to stop the payment going through. I hung up right away, careful not to press anything. I’m convinced this is some kind of dodgy scam and would advise anyone else to avoid pressing any keys too.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent saying they couldn’t process an Amazon order coz my credit card number was wrong. Told me to give them my right card details, which I refused and hung up straight away. I hadn’t made any order with Amazon anyway, so it was pretty clear this was a scam.
