I’m with the person who commented just before me. I began a Facebook survey to try and get a ‘free’ BA travel voucher like a mate had done, but after answering some weird questions that seemed totally unrelated to anything, I twigged it was probably a marketing scam. Ever since then, my inbox and phone have been flooded with scam emails and annoying calls. I reckon I’ve blocked most of the dodgy emails now and I’m gonna keep blocking any dodgy numbers if I’m not sure who they are.

Maybe if you’ve tried working from home, took up a free 50 spins offer at some casino, filled in a survey, had a go at stocks and shares, or got asked to pay even a quid for some deal promising loads of stuff... Someone else here might spot their own experience and think, “Oh yeah, I only went for that one!” Then we can all figure out the culprit. Even if you visited 10 different links, post them here so we can all compare notes... The common one is the one causing the trouble. For me: the 50 free spins on mobile, then on my laptop I had stuff like free sample giveaways, some lottery thing called Syllabicate, and a global test market thing. Hopefully that’s of use!
