Somebody called saying they were from plan.com working for 02, telling me I didn’t have an account. They started mentioning Tesco and other companies, so I asked them to keep naming networks. Then they said something like “oh, services piggyback each other - if you’re not with them I’ll sort out the service.” They didn’t seem to know anything about me.

On 11th January 2023, I got a call from 01952780634. A woman said she was calling from EE and could offer me a better deal than I have now, starting straight away. I asked what my current rate was and she said she didn't know, so I told her to call back the next day. Then I went to the EE shop in Worthing and they told me that no one else but EE handles these things, and my contract wasn’t up for renewal until July 2023. The same woman called me again on 12th January 2023 and claimed she was from EE. When I asked for more info about the company she hung up on me.

Honestly, give the scam caller some credit, the lady quickly admitted she wasn’t directly from Three but calling about my contract with them. I reckon I threw her off by telling her right away that my phone flagged her number as spam. What’s worrying is she clearly knew I’m with Three, even though I’ve kept the same number through Vodafone, Orange and EE in the past. So the number itself doesn’t show who my provider is. The caller was pretty polite and said they were from Plan.com, suggesting I have a look at their site. Now, Plan.com sounds like a big deal, based out of the Isle of Man, dealing with all sorts of phone communication stuff, throwing around loads of technical words to impress you. But oddly enough, there’s no phone number listed anywhere on their website! I asked them what name they had for me, and they gave the name of someone I know with a quite rare name. The strange thing is, the only connection I have with this person is through a Go Fund Me donation. Makes me wonder if Go Fund Me might be selling donor details? Honestly, it just seems a bit dodgy to me.
