Some bloke said he was with O2 and could help me lower my phone bill. Thing is, my number’s a PAYG on the cheapest plan, so there’s no way to save anything. I told him he looked like a spam caller and he just hung up straight away.

They actually knew my business name and tried to convince me they could get me a cheaper business phone plan because EE supposedly charges too much. This could be one of those "sale calls" where they're using auto diallers, just trying their luck hoping to catch someone on EE or O2 who might want a better offer - for them, of course. I chatted with the bloke for about 6 mins, so at least he wasn’t pestering someone else for that time! He told me the biz is called Telserv from Telford, and I looked it up https://www.telserve.co.uk/ so it seems like a real company but definitely shady methods going on!
