There’s this thing scammers do where they use some kind of programme to make any number show up on your caller ID. They call it ‘spoofing’. Basically, it looks like the call’s coming from a real person or business, but really it’s just a trick and not them at all.

Dodgy callers often use special apps to make it look like they’re ringing from any number they want, right on your phone’s caller ID. This trick, called ‘spoofing’, lets them pretend to be someone legit, like a company or person you know, but really they’re not.

The call came through with an Indian accent, asking for my bank details and personal stuff... (WATCH OUT, THEY USE THIS INFO TO CREATE FAKE PASSPORTS AND BANK ACCOUNTS)….. Seems like these scam calls always ring from Kolkata, India… INTERNATIONAL FRAUDSTERS FOR SURE!

The voice had a strong Indian accent and they were asking for my bank details and personal info. Watch out, they use this stuff to create fake bank accounts and passports. It almost always comes from an international number, usually from Kolkata, India. Honestly, it’s just scammers from abroad trying to pull a fast one.

Watch out, there are scammers working from call centres who use social media, emails, and even websites to post fake job ads or pretend to be genuine companies. They often steal real company logos, names, and other details to make their profiles, pages, or messages look authentic. Don’t be fooled by these tricks! The safest bet is to always go to the actual shop or store yourself rather than trusting something online. Stay alert!

Got a call from 01933 829937, somewhere in Wellingborough I think. They said they were running a survey and asked for my age and if I had any life insurance. When I said no, they suddenly switched and started pushing some life insurance deal on me. Felt like a total scam to me.

Got a call from someone who said his name was Paul, spoke with a British accent. The bloke didn’t say exactly what he was after but kept asking all sorts of odd questions. Didn’t ask for any bank stuff or my date of birth, just wanted to know if I’ve got life insurance, what job I do, if I’ve got any illnesses like cancer or heart issues, and my age. It all felt a bit robotic, like it was a recording or something.

Picked up the phone and after a quiet moment, a bloke with a British accent said he was conducting a survey on car ownership and asked for my name. I asked which company was running the survey and suddenly he got all nervous, repeating the request for my name once more. It was obvious they were after my personal info, so I just ended the call.

They asserted it was all for consumer research and prompted me to fill out a survey. They inquired about my age, my life insurance choices, and the reasons behind selecting particular providers. Things took a rather shady turn when they requested the first three letters of my surname.

This number kept ringing me every day for like 4 days straight. I ignored the first three calls, but finally picked up on the fourth. The voice on the other end seemed like an Indian lady. Also, I could hear something in the background that reminded me of coffee beans being ground or something like that. Quite odd!

I received a dodgy call today that reeked of phishing and scamming tactics. It was a pre-recorded voice masquerading as a representative from Santander Bank. They insisted that there had been some suspicious activity on my account and mentioned that my most recent transaction was on hold. They pressured me to verify if I was responsible for that last payment and even asked for my banking details. Absolutely ridiculous!

I had a call from someone claiming to be from outside the UK, they were speaking English but I got the feeling they were one of those scammers from India trying to fish out personal info. They kept asking for stuff like my full address, age and bank card details. I just hung up because obviously you shouldn’t give out any of that info, it's just how they try to pull their scams.
