Never ever ring back a missed call if you dont know the number, it might cause you problems. These scams involving insurance are on the rise and they need to be reported both here and to the authorities. Just search 'action fraud', find 'police.uk' then head over to their 'reporting' area. Mark it as a phishing scam. You dont need to sign up and it wont take longer than leaving a comment here.

I’m on the TPS register but this number keeps ringing me anyway. What’s the use of TPS if it doesn’t stop these calls? Whenever they ring, they hear that my number’s shielded by Call Guardian, yet they still keep trying and just hang up afterwards. Doesn’t seem like they get that I’ve blocked them.

Got a call from this number today. It took me saying “hello” a few times before a woman, who said her name was Sinead, got on the line. She said she was ringing from some kind of insurance checker or something, asking about life insurance. I told her straight away that I’m on the TPS list and then just ended the call.

Some bloke called asking to chat with my missus. I said, 'sorry, she's not here.' He then asks, 'why's that and where is she then?' I told him, 'she's hopefully up in heaven.'
