Someone rang me, purporting to be from BT, saying that there were problems with my router. They wanted my password and other personal information. It felt rather dodgy, so I decided it was best to end the call.

Got a call at 9.20 in the morning, but there was complete silence on the other end.

I got a call from 019248282723, with someone saying they're from BT. It's not a recognised BT contact number though. I double-checked with BT themselves, and they said it’s not one of their official lines. The voice on the phone was a young woman, sounded really fresh and there was some background hubbub like a call centre. Honestly, I wish I knew how to block the number, feels a bit like I’m just waiting to get caught out here.

On the 25th of August 2016, my phone buzzed at about 9 in the morning. I picked up and... nothing. Either nobody was on the other end or they just stayed silent. The number showed as 01924 828723, which if you didn’t know is the Wakefield area code. Quite strange!

Got a call from a bloke with a really strong Indian accent claiming he was from BT. Tried telling me there was some sort of problem with my line but he wouldn’t let me say much else. Sounded like a total scam to me.

There was about 5 seconds of quiet, then they just said "bye" and hung up.

Got a call from a guy speaking with an Asian accent claiming he was from BT, which I knew was a lie straight away. I told him to stop calling or I’d mark it as harassment, and then he actually threatened to ring me five more times right away - and he did! I’ve now blocked the number. Definitely a scam, something should be done about these calls.

This person said they were working for BT as a subcontractor. They put me through to some senior engineer bloke. I did what he told me to, but I run Linux instead of Windows, and he got all lost with that. Didn’t even bother asking what OS I had. I ended the call by telling him if BT had cut me off, it’d save me from paying any cancellation fees.

Got a call off an Asian lady pretending to be from BT. She said our internet would be disconnected tomorrow as we'd supposedly ignored loads of warnings. I told her straight up it was a scam and hung up. She kept trying to convince me it was genuine, but I just cut the call.

Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent saying my internet was going to be disconnected the next day. She offered to sort it out for me, but when I said it was fine if it got cut off, she just ended the call.

Got a call earlier saying my internet was about to get cut off if I didn't upgrade straight away. Told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Really hope no one more easily fooled falls for it. It's just awful how some people operate.

Some bloke calling himself Jack from BT rang about our internet, sounded like he had an accent from somewhere in the sub-continent. Total scam, no doubt. My husband picked up, but if it had been me, I’d have told him to jog on straight away.

A lady with a bit of a muffled voice called, saying ‘BT internet here - just letting you know your broadband will be cut off starting tomorrow’. That was it, no other info and then the line went dead. Bit strange, wasn’t pushing any deal or trying to sell anything.

So this guy kept ringin me up, sayin I needed to log on to my computer and sort somethin out - sounded like he wanted me to install some sort of malware or sumthin. He kept going on about my router bein busted and that it would cost me loads to fix. When I told him I couldn’t do it as I didn't have my laptop near me, he got proper tetchy. Then he started grillin me - asked why I didn’t have it, where I put it, what not. Definitely wasn’t anyone from BT like he said. And his English was pretty awful too.

Got a call saying my BT internet was about to be cut off! I’ve started seeing how long I can drag the chat out before telling them they’ve been tricked. Me and my other half are actually having a little contest to see who can keep them talking the longest. Silly fun, but it makes my day!

Got a call at 8.07 from someone claiming to be with BT (which I dont even use) saying there was an issue with my internet. Usually when they ask how im doing, i go off on some weird, made-up illness story but this time i just told the bloke he was a total con and hung up straight away.
