Whenever I get a call from a number I don’t know but want to find out who it might be, I pick up and stay silent. Almost always, I hear a quick click and then nothing. If there’s noise or people talking in the back ground, I just end the call. If it’s important, they’ll most likely leave a voicemail anyway.

cold callers would probably give up if no one bothered with them, but because some do answer, they keep going. i never do, and if a firm keeps harassing me with calls or junk mail, i make sure to avoid them completely. ive done this a few times now and it’s worked well for me.

This number keeps calling me at all sorts of hours. The only time I picked up, all I got was some robotic voice just saying "thanks for calling". Really irritating! Might be some kind of telemarketer or spam call?
