Got a call from a guy, sounded Asian, said he was Peter from some telephone preference agency or something. He kept going on and on. I told him this is the one number that keeps hassling me nearly every day, and that’s why BT’s been logging any calls from numbers that aren’t on the register. After that, the call just cut off.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent asking for a Mr Smith - totally the wrong person! She said she was calling from Telephone Preference Management and asked if I was receiving nuisance calls. I told her yes, especially like this one! Pressed the Call Block button and that was the end of it. Definitely another one to report to the ICO.

Some bloke answered the phone and the call was ended straight away, maybe they were tryin’ to get hold of a woman or sumthin’, dunno who it was.

A woman called me the other day, said her name was Vanessa and claimed to represent “telephone preference management”. I've been getting loads of calls from these lot, all different UK landlines. When I last asked how they’d got hold of my number, they said I was signed up with them. Thing is, I’m not - I’m actually with the “telephone preference service” which is supposed to be free. I've asked them a couple of times to take my number off their list, so fingers crossed they do it this time.

Just got a call claiming they could stop nuisance calls tomorrow. I asked a few times why they needed my card details and finally gave the expiry date. Then they said they didn’t actually want card info, but asked for the membership number on the card! They said it’d be six digits, but obviously that’s the sort code. That’s when I realised it was dodgy. Told them I didn’t think so and ended the call, but they kept going on asking if it was a Halifax, NatWest, or Lloyds card. Mine was none of those, but the person was really pushy.
