Super dodgy number. A woman with a strong Indian accent called me, saying my EE phone was about to stop working and it was being "monitored", so she was sending out a new SIM by post. She got really annoyed when a text she tried to send didn’t go through. I reckon that text was probably a one-time PIN, which she could have used to buy phones and set up contracts if I’d given it to her. I rang EE and they said they’d never contact customers in that way.

Got a call from a woman speaking with a really strong Indian accent, claiming she was from EE, offering a new SIM and a discount. She tried to get me to change my password through a link she sent. I rang EE myself and they confirmed it was a scam.

Definitely a scam. They said they were calling from Vodafone and had a fantastic sim deal if I switched from my current network. Their English was really bad. When I asked some tricky questions, they just hung up, saying they couldn’t understand or hear me properly.

I was in the hospital and couldn’t really catch who was calling. I told her she’d ringed the hospital and then she just dropped the call herself. I blocked the number straight away and wiped the call log from my wife’s phone.

This number is definitely a scam, calling me claiming to be from the 3 network. The 3 network never gets in touch with me first unless I reach out to them.

She said she was ringing from Vodafone saying my sim card wasn't 5G enabled and would be cut off within a day or two. But she said not to stress as they'd send a new sim to my home and someone would call back to help me set it up, and wanted me to confirm how much my monthly contract costs. I told her I use pay as you go so I wasn't interested and ended the call.

Claimed to be a Sunderland line, could hear loads of people talking in the background, a woman with an Indian accent said she was ringing from Tesco Mobile. I hung up straight away. They rang back right after, but I didn’t pick up.

Some bloke phoned claiming he was from Three. I told him he shouldn’t be ringing me as I’m on the TPS. I even said I’d report it and wanted him to take my number off their list. He kept going and started being rude. When I said I was recording and would pass it to my son who’s a copper (he’s not, and I wasn’t really recording), he said, “oh, I’m quaking in me boots” or something like that. Then he mentioned taking my number off and said goodbye. I didn’t respond and he just hung up.

Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent claiming to be from EE. She said she was sending me a new SIM card to boost my signal and wanted to give me a discount on my EE account. Then she asked for a code that was supposedly emailed to me so she could change my password. Yeah, right! If I’d given it to her, she could’ve locked me out and maybe bought a new phone using my details. I can’t imagine how many folks have been tricked by this scam.

Some bloke with an Indian/Pakistani accent called me claiming to be James from Fresha, that appointment app. He was saying customers were moaning they couldn’t find slots and if I “updated” my account, more appointments would magically appear (no clue how, I handle my own bookings). Then he tried to get me to swap my password for one he’d give me - yeah, right! I just hung up and emailed Fresha to let them know. Guess what? They never called in the first place.
