A woman claimed she was calling from Direct Response and that my insurance company had given them my info. I’m not too sure if that’s legit, but someone linked to a car accident (like towing or fixing the car maybe) obviously shared my phone number and details. Just like the other 55+ calls I’ve had from different numbers, they’re clearly trying to get me to file some compensation claim. From what others have said, this number appears to be connected to dodgy stuff as well.

someone asked for mr xxxx, i asked who they were and they said they worked for direct response. i just told them they had the wrong number and ended the call. sounded like some dodgy claims outfit to me.

I’ve started noticing that certain numbers seem to always hang up as soon as I pick up the phone. To deal with this annoyance, I’ve set up a contact called RUBBISH specifically for these irritating callers. Now, whenever one of these RUBBISH numbers rings me, their name pops up on my screen, and I simply ignore it. What a relief!

Gave me a bell out of nowhere! I picked up to a cacophony of sounds in the background, then it abruptly disconnected after just a few moments. When I tried to return the call, I was met with a robotic voice delivering a recorded message. Blimey!

This number rang me up twice. The person on the line claimed I’d been in a car crash. When I said I didn’t own a car, he insisted I was the passenger. I asked when it happened, and he said December last year. He even offered to share the date and time. Then, surprisingly, he mentioned my home address. I asked where he had gotten my details from, and he said an insurance firm. That’s when I clocked it was probably a phishing scam. Insurance companies usually send letters, not calls like this.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from BT trying to fix my internet issues. She asked to remote into my PC. I'm not even a BT customer, so I pretended to go with it just to check - turned out to be a typical scam where they hijack your computer and demand money to return it. Classic rubbish.
