On the 21st of March, I received a rather intriguing phone call from a gentleman representing this number. He was keen to discuss a home security system boasting the ability to detect body heat from potential intruders, as well as smoke and flames, in addition to sounding alarms and notifying a control centre. He was eager to arrange a time to showcase this remarkable piece of technology. The offer was tempting, priced at a mere £99, claiming that there would only be ongoing fees of "just £1 a day". However, after sometime indulging him, I became quite weary and opted to end the conversation. Following that, I decided to inform the local police, who duly recorded the details and provided me with an incident number.
Today, I’ve had two calls from the same number, but oddly enough, there was no response when I answered.

Every day, there's a persistent ring that never seems to let up, yet I’ve scarcely managed to answer in time. I’m beginning to suspect it’s some sort of automated calling system, probably a nuisance marketing robot or something similar.

Got a call from someone saying they were linked to safety services, mentioning the local police and recent break-ins around our area. Just updating from my note on the 10th of March: I told Leeds City Council about a call I got from 0191 7070148. Trading standards got back to me and said it was a scam. They confirmed that whoever was behind that number isn't authorised by the council or trading standards to give out home security tips in Leeds.

Got a call from 0191 7070148, some woman saying she was ringing from a council-endorsed scheme about home security reps coming to the area soon. She mentioned they'd have ID badges and everything was above board. I told her our place is a no cold-calling zone, but she insisted they're exempt and backed by 44 councils across the UK. I said if it was all proper, no need to ring us since loads of homes here in Adel are on Councillor Barry Anderson’s list, and he lets us know if any legit surveys are happening. Strange thing, as soon as I dropped Barry’s name, she just hung up!

So this bloke rings me up askin for my name and starts talkin about some survey to do with crime prevention. He goes on about people going around with photo ID, telling folks about a new crime watch system or somethin. I told him I wasn’t interested because it sounded like a sales pitch. When I asked why someone from the north east would be ringing me about it, he just shrugged and said he wasn’t calling from Newcastle. Bit dodgey if you ask me.

This lady rang me up and asked for me personally. She then said she was calling about some crime prevention survey happening nearby, and that someone would be calling round to my house soon. I’m always wary of these cold calls, so I didn’t really trust what she was saying.
