Received a call today from someone wanting to speak with my daughter, who I explained is just 11 years old. They insisted she was involved in a car crash in a vehicle she was supposedly driving! I had to clarify that it’s quite impossible as she's at school, and their information was completely off! The caller wouldn’t hear it and kept asserting the accident had indeed occurred. In the end, I had to tell him to shove off. This sort of harassment needs to be reported; it’s utterly unacceptable to receive these pestering phone calls. They’re just a bunch of numpties trying to hit their daily quotas by bothering innocent folks!

Received a call from someone claiming to be from Nat West Bank, which was rather puzzling as we have no dealings with them whatsoever. When I informed them we weren’t interested, they insisted they weren’t trying to sell me anything. Then, rather suspiciously, they asked to confirm my postcode. At that point, I decided to cut the conversation short and hang up. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

It’s basically a call centre hired by various ‘companies’ to cold call numbers and try to drum up business. Some might be genuine startups collecting data, but mostly they’re probably after your card details and private info to scam you. If they drop the call when you pick up, I’d say don’t call back - they could put you on hold to rack up crazy call fees and take your money. Best thing is to block the number through your phone settings. They’ll then call from a similar number, maybe with the last two digits swapped, so just keep blocking, unfortunately!

My phone blocker reckons this number belongs to a scammer. It rang me at 10:37 this morning, 22/3/2017. If these people actually knew me, they wouldn’t have called ’cause I’m a laryngectomee and I only text on my phone since I can’t speak. If a company needs to reach me, I always insist they provide me with either their complete number or at least a portion of it for identification purposes. I've received quite a few calls from what seems to be a call centre, each time from a number that just varies in its last few digits. Their aim appears to be collecting details in order to persuade me to sign up for a "Smart energy meter." When I politely request that they take my number off their list, their replies are rather cheeky, like, "What's your issue with saving money on your gas and electric?" or "I merely posed a straightforward question!" Well, so did I-please, just remove my number from your records!
