Got a call from someone claiming to be from Scottish Power trying to push tariff changes. The call centre’s in Newcastle and run by Inspired Outsourcing. They’re legit reps working on commission to get you to switch your energy supplier, but honestly, the call centre folks are poorly trained and sometimes seem to be having a tipple while working. I should know, I used to be a team leader on a different project there. RR.

Got a call from Scottish Power even though I don't deal with them at all. I called back and selected option 1, then entered my number as instructed. They said they'd take me off their marketing list. Fingers crossed they won’t bother me again for the next couple of days.

I've been inundated with calls and messages from this number for the past three days! They purported to be from HMRC, insisting I was facing some sort of action! I told them I hadn’t received any prior communication about this. They didn’t even bother to ask for my name. Instead, they wanted my postcode, so I cheekily answered with, "Why don't you enlighten me?" Turns out, their guess was way off! When I asked for my name, they got that wrong too! Then, without so much as an apology, they abruptly hung up! Quite displeased, I must say...

Never answer calls from numbers I don’t recognise, like 01916719973 - it just goes straight to voicemail. If it’s important, I’m sure they’ll leave a message and then I can ring them back when I’m free.
