Initially, they informed me that I was set to receive a £2,000 cheque, but then they upped the ante to £3,000-on the condition that I purchased a £150 iTunes voucher today. As soon as I started to query this shady proposition and mentioned it seemed fishy, the call abruptly cut off. It’s absolutely shocking how these charlatans exploit those who are vulnerable. He said I’d need to pay £150 to the government through some kind of payment scheme, which sounded like a postal order or something similar. I told him I found it a bit dodgy since I’d never heard of paying like that before. Then he said if I was suspicious, they’d just leave it and hung up on me. Honestly, it felt pretty fishy.
