Thank goodness my Virgin mobile phone is rubbish and most calls either don't go through or go straight to voicemail. I missed the call but managed to hear the voicemail, and I swear it sounded like someone named Claire Williams - but with an unmistakable American accent. The way she said her job title and the ending phrases were definitely not how we'd say them here. Even with these clear clues, it made me curious enough to look up the number here on this site.

Completely bogus call from an Asian chap who refused to connect me to Claire Williams. I would strongly recommend that you block this number and only pick up calls from it if absolutely necessary. I had an unpleasant experience when I asked why they were incessantly contacting my daughter; the individual on the other end became quite hostile and unleashed a torrent of expletives. It's absolutely infuriating to see individuals falling prey to these scams. It seems like these people are simply lounging about, with nothing more constructive to do than to con hardworking citizens out of their money. Got a call from 0191 645 6329, it showed up as Tyneside on my phone. I put it on speaker but there was nothing, just silence for about 10 seconds before they said "goodbye" and hung up. No message or anything left.

Says they're from HMRC. Got a voicemail from some American woman called Clair Williams. Total scam, watch out.

Got a call from 01916456329 saying they were from HMRC in a recorded message, but it was clear it wasn't legit. The message warned me to call back or else there’d be serious trouble. Definitely a scam!

Just got a call from 0191 645 6329, a landline in North Shields. There was a recorded voice of a woman with an American accent saying her name was Claire Wiliams and that she was calling from HM Revenue. She said there was some urgent legal matter I had to deal with and I must call back quickly. If not, apparently serious legal trouble will follow. She finished off by saying goodbye and take care! Quite suspicious!

Got a call from some bloke saying he was from HMRC. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.
