This number is definitely from EDF related to their Smart Meter install service. I’m in the process of upgrading my meters to smart ones, and this was the line that rang me back to confirm when they’d be coming. No dodgy stuff going on here. It’s EDF ringing up, trying to get you to switch to a Smart Meter. The number’s nothing dodgy, just annoying because they keep calling every day even though I’ve said no. Looks like they must get paid by the government for every Smart Meter installed. Had to block them.

This number shows up on EDF's site (just Google "have edf called me"), so even if you or I aren’t keen on a smart meter, they do have a valid reason to ring if you’re with EDF, regardless if you’re registered with the TPS or not.

EDF actually asked me for my phone number, but then it ended up with these dodgy scammers. I’ve had loads of calls from this number, so I had to block it. Seems like EDF are involved somehow and reckon it’s fine to share private info with annoying, careless 3rd party scammers - they should be responsible for this mess. Even after blocking, the calls haven’t stopped.

I've received a staggering eight lengthy voicemail messages, yet there hasn’t been a single word spoken. All I can hear is some sort of office chatter in the background. The number is barred from ringing through on my phone, so it just bypasses the call altogether and lands straight in my voicemail.

Had this number blocked since before, now it just rings out and goes to voicemail. The message was about 20 seconds long and just sounded like some quiet empty room, no one talking or anything.

Received a call around 10:40 this morning (2nd Feb). The lady claimed she was "with" EDF, not just "working for" them, trying to sell me a smart meter. I politely declined and ended the call.

I got in touch with EDF via email and they claimed they’d taken my number off their list. But I’m still getting loads of missed calls and voicemails, even after blocking them. I don’t want a smart meter - it’s not legally compulsory. Why doesn’t the government do something about these lot? They keep pestering you, even after you’ve angrily spoken to Customer Service who promise to remove your number, but it’s all just empty words and scams.

They said they were from EDF but honestly sounded like a total scam, with loads of noise in the background. They rang me but still asked for security info - that’s not right! They claimed both my meters had expired and needed changing. When I asked to speak to customer service, they said they couldn’t transfer me because of some "system issue". Felt really dodgy to me.

Got a call saying my meter's faulty and out of date, so they say I legally have to swap it out - it's from 2006 and apparently meters only last a decade. I asked if that means it’s been broken for eight years already, but she said it’s just starting to fail now and that I have to pay for the upgrade straight away - none of it seems right. She wouldn’t give me her name either, just said it was EDF.

Ten minutes ago, someone claiming to be from "EDF" rang me up, saying my meter was outdated. They said they knew I didn’t want a smart meter and offered to set up a time to swap it for another non-smart one. I told them that if EDF genuinely wanted to replace it, they’d have to send me a letter through the post first. Then I just hung up.
