She claimed to be in communication with an Indian call centre and requested us to confirm our banking information. We decided to hang up immediately.

We've been getting calls from this number repeatedly. Each time we pick up, there's a lot of noise in the background, but no one actually says anything! It's quite puzzling.

We've had the same experience just now! Gave that number a ring back, and it merely kept ringing, so we promptly hung up.

I received a call from what appeared to be an AOL Broadband number. There was a brief ringback, and when I answered, a lady on the other end was speaking from South Africa! She was attempting to sell "complimentary" daytime calls for a BT landline. I decided to end the conversation fairly quickly as it was clearly a sales pitch.

It seems this number might be originating from abroad, possibly linked to an Indian company that’s calling in from outside the UK. Specifically, we noticed something peculiar with the 01914 code. When we dialled 1471, it provided us with the last number that called. A similar incident occurred previously; upon answering, we were met with a dial tone, then the usual ringing sound, and eventually, someone picked up. During my previous employment, we used to contact individuals via a website situated in Russia, and our calls typically routed through a London number (020). We suspect that this might be some sort of call redirecting. It would be beneficial to have someone from the communications team to shed some light on this situation.

I received a call from these individuals recently, and I was rather unimpressed. I mean, I was hoping for a pleasant chat, but alas, that wasn't the case. They had my name, which was a bit alarming really, especially considering the way they approached the whole DPA business. They straight-up asked, "Is Mr *********** available?" as if they were just popping by for tea! As others have mentioned in their experiences, the call was rather brief, and the person who responded had quite an accent reminiscent of Africa. It was a strange interaction that ended abruptly as soon as I clarified that while I do have broadband, the landline doesn’t belong to me. Quite a puzzling scenario, to say the least!

I find myself bombarded by calls from this number day in and day out, despite being on the list to avoid such nuisances. I’ve stopped answering whenever I see it pop up on my phone, yet it continues to be quite vexing.

I've been getting quite a few calls from this number recently, but I've sadly been missing them each time. Since our AOL broadband renewal was due, it seems rather probable that the calls are related to that. Cheers for the heads-up; we'll certainly continue to disregard them!

Definitely worth considering, chaps! It appears that TalkTalk has recently acquired AOL. They’ve got quite a few perks to entice you to remain a loyal customer, which does involve committing to a renewal. However, if you’re satisfied with how they operate, what's the fuss? We enjoyed our broadband service for just a fiver per week for three weeks, then it went up to £9.99 thereafter. While they might coax you into signing up for the whole shebang-broadband and phone services-it's not a mandatory requirement. When you’re astute, no one can browbeat you into something you don’t fancy, can they?

Earlier today, our mum received a call from this number, and the caller was asking for someone by name. They then proceeded to inquire about his satisfaction with his AOL broadband service. To this, he responded negatively, after which they abruptly hung up. When he attempted to return the call, an automated message claimed that an AOL representative had tried to get in touch and would call again later. However, upon contacting AOL directly, we were informed that this number does not belong to them, and unfortunately, they were unable to assist further!

I’ve just received my second call today from this number, and surprise, surprise-it's the same situation as before! As per usual, there’s a beep and then they hang up. Oh, it’s driving me mad!

Indeed, I've been getting calls from this number for the past fortnight. I answered one time, and shortly after that, the calls started coming through. We hung up promptly, but it seems like they're persistent!

I just received a call from this number a moment ago, but I'm grateful for the details on this site. It really helped us avoid returning the call.

This number has been incessantly ringing us, especially while we're out grafting, tallying over twenty calls in the last three weeks. We finally answered it, and an Indian lady was on the line, asking for us by name, to which we promptly hung up. When we tried to call back, the line remained silent. We've now got a rather loud air horn poised by the telephone for when they inevitably try again!

Over the last few weeks, we've received calls from this number repeatedly. On each occasion, the caller claims to be from AOL Broadband, offering a reward as a faithful customer. We’ve had enough of their nonsense and told them that if they have something to sell, they should just post it instead of ringing us. Curiously, I own two phone numbers, and it’s the one they’re using that’s completely unlinked to my AOL account; in fact, AOL doesn’t even acknowledge this number. Plus, I’m ex-directory, which confirms my suspicion that it’s all a scam. Moving forward, we plan to just disregard any further calls from them.

We've had the very same experience! I answered the call only for the line to start ringing immediately. So, I just hung up straightaway!

Had a call come through, and when I answered, it just started dialing away on its own. Seems a bit dodgy, doesn’t it? Could be a sneaky ploy to bump up your call charges, perhaps?

This number called us today, but we didn’t manage to pick up in time. So, we used 1471 to find out who it was. When we tried to return the call, we heard a message saying we had been contacted earlier by AOL, and they apologised for missing us, stating there was no cause for concern.

I recently had someone trying to reach us on the phone. We picked up, but as soon as we did, the line started ringing again. So, I decided to let it go.
