We've just received a call from this number, and it followed the familiar pattern of spam calls-there was a pause as if they were trying to connect, then a woman with a very thick accent asked, "Hello, is this Mrs. ******?" We struggled to decipher the name she was after, so we mentioned that she must have dialled the wrong number. She responded courteously with an "ok then, goodbye," and we echoed her farewell before ending the call. Now, after checking this forum, I'm feeling a bit anxious that this might turn into a common occurrence.

I've received multiple calls from 01914 237401, but I've decided not to call back. It's becoming quite the nuisance, to say the least!

Absolutely nobody picked up the phone. It's rather frustrating, isn't it?

Received a call from the same number, but when I answered there was complete silence on the line. After a few moments, I heard some peculiar noises before I decided to hang up. Quite strange, indeed!

I've received countless calls from this number, and the moment I answer, it sounds like I'm the one making the call. Quite odd, isn't it?

I received a couple of calls earlier today, but as soon as I answered, there was no one on the other end. Quite odd, really!

Fed up with this number, honestly.

We received a call from this number, but when we picked up, we could hear another line ringing in the background. An Asian lady then answered and asked us to confirm whether we were Mr. xxx (my surname). At that stage, we decided to end the call since we were a bit confused about which number was involved and were uncertain about any potential charges that might stem from it.

Received a missed call from this number, but I don't have a clue who it could be, especially since I don't know anyone in that area. Plus, we're already signed up with the Telephone Preference Service!

I keep receiving calls from these individuals, and every time I pick up, there’s no one on the other end. It’s become quite tiresome! Does anyone know how I might be able to rid myself of these persistent nuisances?

Yet another number that we can't seem to place. No idea who's calling or where it's from!

I’ve had three calls from this number over the course of a week. On two occasions, nobody was on the other end, but one time it was definitely a scammer pretending to represent Speak Talk.

It's likely from the Daily Telegraph, probably trying to push some marketing stunt, perhaps enticing you with a limited-time free subscription. They seemed to have snagged our details through their online football portal.

I keep getting calls from this number, but they hang up each time. It seems like they might be trying to entice people to call back, possibly racking up hefty charges in the process. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I've signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, yet it appears that some individuals haven't quite grasped the concept. Our tip is to pick up the phone when they call and then simply leave the receiver off the hook for a bit. This way, they can't hang up until you choose to end the call, and we've found it really cuts down the number of repeat offenders trying to get through to us again. In the end, it hits them right in the pocket!

Received the same call from this number, and as soon as I answered with a cheerful 'hello' a few times, they promptly hung up. What a bother! Being registered with OFCOM should ideally mean avoiding calls like this.

I keep getting calls from this number twice a day, like clockwork, on the first of every month at roughly 10 in the morning and half-past two in the afternoon! I'm quite keen to lodge a complaint because we’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service, yet every time I pick up, there's no one there! It’s rather frustrating, to say the least!

The moment we answer a call from this number, it seems to immediately trigger further calls. We're beginning to suspect that this might lead to us being billed at a higher rate.

I keep getting calls from these individuals and it’s becoming quite bothersome. It seems like they're just dialling random numbers, completely unconcerned about how much they’re disrupting others.

I recently received a call from this number. When we picked up, it was as if they were trying to ring us back, but once we said hello, they just disconnected. What’s the deal with that? Such a waste of time for all involved!

Give the Central Switchboard at the Telegraph a bell on 0207 931 2000 each day. When you get through, make it clear that you wish to be taken off their marketing list. They should connect you to the right department that can handle your request and remove your number from their records. Easy peasy, problem sorted!

Just a quick note to share my experience. We tried phoning this number from our office landline and received a rather peculiar automated message: “You've received a call from the Everyday Telegraph. We're sorry we couldn't reach you. There's no need for concern. We'll make an effort to contact you at another time. Farewell." It’s rather strange how they choose to communicate with folks, isn't it?

I'm rarely at home during daylight hours, but I've been under the weather for the past couple of weeks and this number has called me twice a day without fail. I didn't pick up because I've not been feeling up to chatting, but I did manage to check the number on 1471.

On Sunday, the 12th, we received a tip-off from TalkTalk to ring 1477 right after we got a call from this number in order to cut off any further communication. Unfortunately, this only worked for a day. Not long after, my partner answered the phone and was actually engaged in conversation with someone who asked for me, considering the account is registered in my name. The minute he mentioned that we were both at work, the caller abruptly hung up without any explanation-very rude, if you ask me. I've decided to report this again to TalkTalk, and they assured me they would escalate the issue. Honestly, a bit of training in manners wouldn’t go amiss for these callers.
