Had a call from some muppets pretending to be Santander's fraud department, using the same number and all. They said they were checking up on a phishing email I’d fallen for - stupid me, I admit it. Pretty sure these are the same scammers that sent the dodgy email, so heads up for any emails that look like they're from Royal Mail asking for bank info to pay for redelivery or whatever. Don't fall for it!

This is definitely a scam, usually linked with dodgy emails about TV Licence asking you to update your bank info because of some "service change". Older folks, watch out! Santander manages millions of accounts and obviously can't watch every single one. So when you get a call from this number saying there's been a weird transaction on your account, it's just another trick from the scammers trying to get you twice over. Stay alert!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Santander saying British Gas wanted to put a direct debit on my account, clearly just another scam hoping to fool me.

If you’ve had calls from this number, I'd double-check your bank statements. I spotted a Domino’s pizza charge I didn’t put through. I contacted Santander, and they said the payment was made in Milton Keynes - but I live in Southampton and haven’t been to Milton Keynes at all. After that, this Milton Keynes area code kept calling me. Bit fishy, right? I never picked up but had a look here to see what’s up. Pretty sure it’s not Santander. I also spoke to their fraud team and they confirmed it’s not on their end.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Santander’s fraud department, said they spotted dodgy activity on my card ending in 2364. Before I could tell them where to go, the call just cut off. I’d already been caught out by a Royal Mail phishing email last week and gave away my card details. I cancelled the card quick smart, within like 30 minutes, so luckily no cash was stolen. I’d spoken to the real fraud team already. Seems like these scammers hung about, hoping to trick me another time.

I got a phone call from someone pretending to be from Santander's fraud department, saying there was dodgy activity on my card ending in 2364. Just as I was about to tell them where to go, the line cut off. Last week, I got caught out by a fake Royal Mail email and they managed to nab my card info. Luckily, I cancelled the card within 30 minutes and no cash was taken. I’d already talked to the real fraud team about it then. So yeah, these scammers must have been hanging about, trying to trick me again.

Received a call this afternoon, made two attempts actually. The caller claimed there was some dodgy direct debit action on my account and that they had blocked it. They seemed to know my town, which set alarm bells ringing. I mentioned I’d better check my online banking app before proceeding. Shortly after, a message appeared on my phone stating, "you have missed a call from me." I’ve attempted to reach the bank, but the lines were busy. I’ll give it another go, but do keep your wits about you!

Had a call from someone saying they were with Santander, said our account was compromised and we needed to shut it and start a fresh one. They offered to sort it all out for us, sounded pretty believable. We just ended the call.

This bank scam feels quite risky. Best thing is to just end the call and not engage with them.

I didn't answer the phone initially but decided to return the call. When I did, I got a recorded message which seemed to start in the middle, immediately telling me to press 4 for account issues or 2 if I thought there was fraud. Then, out of nowhere, it just said ‘goodbye’ and ended the call. Quite baffling!

someone rang me asking to talk to my partner about some weird DD payments on his account today. they wanted the home number for my partner, which santander already hold, but the caller said they didn’t have it. I wouldn’t give them the number. my partner’s going to double check with the bank but I’m pretty sure its a scam. they kept saying my partner should’ve got alerts, but he hasn’t had a single one.

I received a call from a woman who introduced herself as Abbey. After doing a quick search here, I decided it was best not to share any details with her. She claimed she completely understood my hesitation and stated she was ringing from the number listed on the back of my debit card, which raised a red flag for me. Previously, the bank's fraud prevention team had informed me that they never initiate calls from those numbers, indicating they are often associated with scams. Abbey assured me that she wasn't requesting any personal information directly but insisted I needed to provide some automatic details. Naturally, I was reluctant to comply with that either. She suggested she'd fetch a manager to call me back, but I opted to pop into my local Santander branch instead. To my surprise, she said that would be even better. It felt like I was conversing with a rather charming scam artist!

Got a call supposedly from Santander's fraud team, saying there was unusual stuff going on with my bank account. I was like, what Santander account? 2277 or something? In the last 5 mins, people have looked up this number 35 times! Definitely a scam, so watch out everyone.

Dodgy number, for sure! It rang me early this morning, but I let it go to voicemail. Out of curiosity, I tried ringing it back using another phone, and it had that same automated voice you hear from Santander. Just to be safe, I contacted Santander directly via a number I trust, and the security team confirmed it’s definitely not one of theirs. Be careful, everyone-definite scam vibes!

Definitely a dodgy number! It rang me earlier today, but I chose not to answer. When I tried calling back from another phone, it had that familiar automated voice one would associate with Santander. However, I didn’t want to take any chances, so I rang up Santander using their official number. They directed me to their security team, who confirmed it wasn’t a legitimate Santander contact. Consider this a warning-stay vigilant!
