This number was definitely a scam. They started to persuade me to send money but I managed to catch on and stop them halfway. Then they said they’d try a different person instead! I got in touch with Santander’s fraud department and confirmed that it’s the real Santander fraud line, so these fraudsters must be using tech to fake the caller ID - which isn’t unusual nowadays. Some of the green ticks might actually be legit, and that’s how they fool folks. My advice is if they ring you, just hang up and call Santander directly.

Watch out, its a scam. Someone said they were from Santander's fraud team and tried to trick my missus into moving money to a "different" account.

Im pretty sure this number is legit and its really Santander. I even rang it on saturday myself, so anyone saying its a scam is mistaken.

Any review saying this number is safe is probably left by some dodgy characters. Santander never calls their clients direct. Most people who say this number's dodgy are right. Banks will never ask you to send money to a 'secure' account like that. Stay alert!

Someone rang saying they were from Santander. They had my card info, date of birth and email. Tried to take £10 out of my bank. When I rang Santander, they said it wasn’t them and they never phone customers. Watch out if you get a call claiming to be Santander, it’s not legit.
