I got a call from 0114 700 1524 with a recorded message, pretty much the same thing. It was about HMRC, some guy called Dennis Gray, and they were threatening legal action.

02079477772 and 01147001550 called my mum, she nearly got tricked into handing over nearly £4000. She doesn’t really use the internet so isn’t aware of these scams. The older folks are so much more at risk, really need to warn our elderly.

Got two missed calls and a message on the answerphone from 01133280647, said it was HMR Custom, someone called Dennis Grey. Like others, it said me or my lawyer should ring them back on this number. How do they manage to use so many different phones? It's shocking that they haven’t been tracked down yet.

Got a voicemail from 01622 371142 claiming to be Denis Gray from HMRC. Said I need to get my solicitor to ring them back. The message warned not to ignore it or there'd be trouble! As if HMRC would ever send a message like that! I looked up the HMRC site before using this service and they confirm there’s a scam going around right now. Absolutely disgraceful!

Got a message sayin to ring Officer Dennis Gray from HMREV back on 0121 318 9938 or there’d be serious trouble. The weird bit was the automated voicemail finished with “TAKE CARE !!!” Seriously? Folks like my elderly family could easily get scared and call right away. And I’m signed up to the telephone preference service too?! What’s the point then?

Got the exact same recorded threat from some Dennis Grey claiming to be from HMRC. They said I needed to get a solicitor and ring them back on 0203 2398819 or else there’d be trouble. What a load of rubbish. Obviously, I didn’t bother calling back.

Some bloke called Philip Edwards rang my 83 year old Aunt, saying she had a tax bill of £3060.60. She cut the call short when he asked for her mobile number. Luckily, a couple of weeks later, a woman came with the same scam. I've already reported it to the "phishing" authorities.

Someone rang my mum, who's 80, saying she owed the tax man £2,500. They told her she needed to pop into Morrisons and buy vouchers. They even said she'd be arrested if she didn’t comply. Luckily, she just ended the call straight away.

Cheers, this really put my mind at ease. I rang them back and they said I was gonna get arrested, which made me chuckle. I mentioned I suspected a scam and then they just cut me off. The worrying bit is they knew my address and phone numbers and all, so how are they getting hold of that info? Is there a way to block these calls?

Got a call just a couple mins ago from HM R Customs, some guy called Dennis Gray on 01905570285. They said I had to call them back or my solicitor. It’s crazy how these scams still go on, especially when they use official government logos. It’s so wrong and I feel bad for elderly people who might get scared by these automated calls - you can’t even tell what accent they’re speaking in properly.

So this bloke Scott left a message, then rang back threatening me with a WARRANT. I told him HMRC always contacts you first, but he went on saying don’t argue and he’s not to blame if a notice was put on my doorstep. When I tried to talk back, he just hung up. Then, like 5 minutes later, he calls me again. Total SCAM!!!

Got a call with a voicemail asking me to ring back 01905570285. When I got through this morning, the bloke said his name was Edward Scott. I told him my nan doesn't have anything to do with HMRC so why they ringing her up. He just mumbled about communication problems. Can’t something be done to block this number and stop these scam calls? It’s proper annoying!

Just had the same thing happen with those scammers. I rang the police and they told me it’s a scam, nothing to panic about. Honestly, these folks deserve to be caught and locked up for frightening people like this.

I also got a voicemail telling me to ring 01905 570285 straight away from "Edward Scott" Warrant ID: 248 1965, just like loads of others have said. They threatened legal trouble, asset seizures, frozen accounts and up to 8 months jail time. Edward then handed me over to his manager, Daniel Harvey - all of them spoke with Asian accents. I just hung up. Later, a different number popped up, “Cardiff” 02921286570, but the call kept glitching cause it seemed to be routed from outside the UK to this dodgy number.

Received a ring from 01905 570285 - The bloke claimed he was from HMRC. Said his name was Edward Scott, but he had a pretty strong Asian accent. He told me I had a warrant for my arrest because I supposedly owed £2,875. Said I'd done fraud and tax evasion too. DO NOT GIVE THESE LOT YOUR MONEY. IT'S DEFINITELY A SCAM!!!!

I just got a call saying there’s a warrant for my arrest over HMRC tax issues. Some bloke claiming to be Sebastian Hunter, an investigator with HMRC, told me I owe £2,580 and that there's proof I purposely avoided paying my taxes. Sounds dodgy to me.
