He claimed I was overpayin on my life insurance and asked for my bank info, but when I told him I wasn’t with that insurer he named, he just hung up right away.

Some bloke rang saying he was from my insurance firm and even knew my first name. I asked him which insurance and what company he was with, but he gave me a dodgy answer. When I pointed that out, he said he was calling from a review company representing them. I asked for the name of his company and he refused to say. Then he went on to ask if it was Aviva I was insured with. I quickly told him no thanks, suspected it was a scam, and ended the call before blocking the number.

For anyone hard of hearing, I signed up my mobile and home phone with the TPS. After a while, the annoying calls start to drop off. Apparently, those pest callers have a 28-day window to bother you once your numbers are on the list, as the law says they can’t call you after that. I can’t recall exactly when I put my details in, but my calls are definitely slowing down - the last one was just yesterday.

This number has rung me a few times, so I thought I'd return the call. The woman who picked up spoke really quickly with a thick accent, and I couldn’t make out a word of what she was saying. Asked her three times to repeat and still no clue! Eventually found out it was another PPI claim company. I'd already given one a go with zero success, so told her that.
