01299452487 called me, and the guy had all my info, even my sort code and the amounts I paid for my last three TalkTalk bills! Then they attempted to take money straight from my bank. The fraud team is looking into it now, but TalkTalk hasn’t been much help. They said someone will ring me back in 30 days. When I asked if it was safe to keep using their device, they just wouldn’t give me a straight answer!

They rang me earlier but I didn’t pick up and as soon as the answerphone came on, they just hung up. From what others have said here and on the TT Community, these scammers are still at it. I got quite a few calls from withheld or different numbers not long ago and can confirm they seem to know real, valid account numbers! DON’T FALL FOR IT. I reported it to TT and the calls stopped temporarily. It just means we all have to stay alert and doubtful. TT say they don’t make unsolicited calls, so that alone should raise alarms. WATCH OUT!

These folks are fraudsters pretending to be from TalkTalk support. They want you to give them control of your computer to ‘repair a virus’, but they’re actually after your bank info. Just tell them you’ll ring the cops - that usually scares them off. It’s shocking this has been happening for over two years and TalkTalk couldn’t care less!

0187499024 keeps ringing me up at all hours, like multiple times a week, but they never leave a voicemail. I picked up once and they claimed to be from Talk Talk. I told them I’m not a customer, then they just ended the call. Still, they won’t stop calling me.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian/Malay accent speaking terrible English, saying she was from TalkTalk and my internet was about to cut out. She asked if she could "log on" to sort it for me by uploading some files. Absolutely not. Just another scammer from overseas trying to con anyone who's not careful. Keep in mind TalkTalk got hacked badly, so these jokers probably have your info (despite what TalkTalk says). Stay cool and either hang up or tell them to jog on - they're just after your money. BEWARE and don’t get caught out!

I had a very similar call from this number. Some bloke with an accent claimed there was an issue with my router and told me to turn it off so he could help me fix problems on my PC. When I asked why he wasn’t asking any security questions, he just rattled off my address, phone number, and TalkTalk account details. I pointed out again that he hadn’t asked any security checks, but he just brushed me off and kept telling me to follow his directions on the computer. I ended the call immediately. Since then, that same number has called me 7 times and I’ve ignored every call.

Make sure to report any pesky silent or dropped calls to the Ofcom site, or if it’s about your data, to the Data Protection folks. If loads of us complain, they might actually do something about it. Just a heads up, this one might be linked to that TalkTalk hack where customer info got stolen. So watch out and don’t share anything personal!

Got a call from an Indian guy claiming to be from Talk Talk, asking for my PC password and address. I told him it sounded like a scam and ended the call. Rang Talk Talk afterwards, and they said they’ve blocked that number on their system so it won’t ring any customers again, and their security team will look into it.

These folks claimed to be from TalkTalk, ringing me up about some supposed internet issue. They had me on the phone ages, telling me to turn off my mobile. Then they said I could get a refund straight into my online banking (which I don’t use). When I said that, they switched to saying they’d send it via PayPal instead... well, they cocked it up and accidentally transferred £1300 instead of £300. They said they couldn’t reverse the extra without my help and asked if I could send them a cheque for the difference, promising to pay me back £500 for the trouble. Thankfully, I wasn’t born yesterday and thought, yeah, right... no thanks mate! Just so you know, TalkTalk’s real number is 0870-444-1820 - watch yourself with these scammers!

They said my computer had some issue, like it was downloading things really slow, and asked if I’d seen the error icon. I said no, everything seems okay. I told them I didn’t think they were from TalkTalk since they never asked any security questions and my antivirus is working just fine. Pretty clear scam and just a waste of my time! At last managed to stop these constant scam calls by switching all my dealings to UK firms hiring local people, supporting jobs here instead of boosting ones in places where these sneaky w#nkers hide with no worry about getting caught. Haven't had any trouble since - problem solved!

At first I reckoned it was a mate calling, but when I rang back the phone said ‘number not recognised.’ Tried 'callback' and just got a busy tone, then I sussed it was likely a scam. This website backs that up. Wish there was a way to block these jokers - maybe zapping them with a few thousand volts would do the trick, though probably illegal!

I got a phone call just after 12 this afternoon from a bloke claiming to be with Talk Talk. I told him straight away that no legit phone company ever calls out of the blue, plus I didn’t trust him at all. Besides what I mentioned earlier, there’s loads of funny ways to stop them from calling again: when they ring, just answer with something like, "Hello, Fraud Unit at Halifax Police, can you give me your reference number?" Or you could try, "Ukrainian Consulate, Anti-fraud team, who am I speaking to?" Another great one is, "Hold on a sec, gotta check with mum!" then just carry on chillin’ with your telly. Or say, "You’ve reached the Centre for the Criminally Insane, who’s your handler?" Honestly, there’s endless stuff like this and it’s proper hilarious!

Kept missing this call, it just goes to voicemail after 2 rings. Would love to give 'em a right telling off, make 'em regret ever dialling! I’ve pretended all sorts - like I’m stuck in a care home, hard of hearing, a kid, don’t speak English (but actually speak some mad language hardly anyone knows), act daft, or just mess about wasting their time, ending with "what’s a confuser anyway?" Some bloke called me up with a sketchy scheme, wanted me to put something on my laptop that looked like a virus. Their English was really poor. Got a call from an unknown number with no caller ID, didn’t pick up. I noticed loads of complaints about this same number claiming to be TalkTalk. Sometimes I act like I can't hear properly, or say I’m an old pensioner in a care home, or even a kid, or a tenant - basically act daft as a box of rocks. Got a call from someone saying they were from TalkTalk about problems with our account. I just hung up and rang TalkTalk myself - total scam, obviously!

I got a call from some folks claiming my computer had a virus. Their English was pretty poor and it sounded dodgy from the start. They tried to get me to boot up my PC and follow their instructions to open certain files. Then they got me to download some kind of 'protective' software, but it was a trick. They ended up getting into my computer. Watch out for these scams, they’re definitely up to no good!

They dropped a voicemail, just a lady saying "Hello" and nothing else. I don't know anyone from Brecon. This has happened twice now, so either they've got the wrong number or it's just really odd.

Got a call from someone claiming to be TalkTalk, woke me up way too early on a weekend, and it was obviously a scam cause they greeted me with "good afternoon" when it was still morning! As soon as I told them I wasnt happy about being disturbed, they just hung up.

Got a call from someone saying they were TalkTalk and my internet’s full of errors. Told them to stop calling right away cos they’re not from TalkTalk. They tried hard to scam me but I told them to buzz off, I’m not falling for it.

Got a call from some Indian bloke saying he was from Talk Talk and claimed my computer was full of problems. I told him to jog on!!

Got a call from this number but no one spoke when I answered, then they just ended the call. Then yesterday, someone with an Indian accent said they were from TalkTalk. They actually knew my name! I used to have TalkTalk broadband and now I’m thinking my info got leaked in that big hack they had and somehow ended up with scammers.

Just like you said, got a call from an Indian bloke named 'Alex' saying he was from Talk Talk tech support - felt like a total scam right away since I’ve dealt with this kind of call before. When I told him I’m not a Talk Talk customer, he reckoned it didn’t matter if I was with BT or Sky, he was still from the tech department! That’s when I told him I knew it was a con and ended the call.

I was certain long before their supposed ‘hack’ that TalkTalk’s security had been compromised, with unauthorised access to customer data like names and phone numbers. One particular number is meant to be top secret, known only to TalkTalk and myself. I’ve got two TalkTalk lines, and both get calls from this number multiple times every day. The people calling clearly know personal info. Even though I tried to put an end to it, the only real solution seems to be quitting TalkTalk and changing all my numbers.

Played along with the caller even though I knew it was dodgy, said my computer had issues and needed fixing. He claimed to be from TalkTalk. I pretended to have a laptop and did exactly what he asked. Kept him going for a good while until I got fed up, then told him to jog on and ended the call.

i ignored the call as it came in after three other calls from 02088888777, then one more from a number i can’t recall. when i picked up that one, an indian bloke claimed he was from talktalk, knew my name and started talking about internet stuff, so i just hung up. since then, i’ve been bombarded with calls from 02 numbers all day long - morning, lunch, afternoon - and now this 01874990024 number too, which seems like a scam.

some bloke rang me saying he was from talktalk, said there was a problem with my PC. i told him i was tied up and asked for his contact to ring him later. he gave me 01212840935. i looked the number up and looks like a scam.

This morning, I got a call from someone claiming to be from TalkTalk, asking me to switch on my computer. Their English was really poor, so it was hard to understand what they were saying. I told them no and didn’t turn on my computer since I’m not even a TalkTalk customer. Has anybody else had a call from this number?

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent named Roger, who claimed he was from TalkTalk, said my computer was giving him error alerts. He even knew my name and where I live. I told him I wasn’t having any issues and didn’t really care about these error messages, then he just hung up on me. Tried calling the number back but it says it’s not a valid number.
