Reports on phone number 01874985241
9 yearsJust yesterday, I had a rather alarming phone call from this number. The chap on the line had a delightful English accent and claimed to represent BT. He ominously informed me that my internet service was set to be cut off that day! However, seeing as I’m not even a BT customer, I quickly realised it was all nonsense and decided to end the call. I’m pleased to report that my internet is still functioning like a dream!BT9 yearsI received a call yesterday which I chose to ignore. When I checked the code, it was linked to Brecon. Today, the phone rang again and I thought I’d pick it up. An Indian woman introduced herself as being from BT and claimed they had detected some dodgy malware being downloaded while I was online. She asked if I was at my computer, to which I replied that I wasn’t and that I wouldn't be getting on it anytime soon as I was quite busy. She promptly hung up. I found it strange, as my phone seemed to toggle between displaying the number and showing "number unavailable" during the call, something it hasn’t done before. Curious, I decided to ring the number back, only to be greeted with a recorded message saying that the number wasn't in service and offering a website for further information. Now I’m left utterly baffled!BreconBT9 yearsI keep getting calls from 01939685494 and 01874985241 where all I hear is a recorded voice saying goodbye and then it just ends. Nothing more is said.9 yearsGot a call today from some dodgy person pretending to be from Microsoft or BT, they can be anyone honestly from the tech world. Seriously, don’t trust them and never hand over your personal details.BTMicrosoft9 yearsGot a dodgy call pretending to be from BT. Had a go at wasting the bloke’s time, but he just cut me off after saying my internet was going to be off for a month. BT really needs to put a stop to these!9 yearsI called this number back after missing the initial call, only to get a message saying it’s not in service. How come they can do that?9 yearsGot a call from someone saying it was BT claiming my internet would be cut off for a couple days. I’m actually with TalkTalk though. The person asked me to check my computer, but I told them I'd manage a couple days without internet if need be. Next thing, they just ended the call on me.BTTalkTalk9 yearsGot a call from this number today, saying they're from my broadband provider (something about Virgin Jam) warning me my internet was going to be cut off for 5 days. They wanted me to get on my computer to fix it. I have had some internet issues lately, but this could just be a coincidence. I ended the call and used 1471 to check the number, it showed as 01874 985241. Seems dodgy to me.Virgin9 yearsGot a call to my late nan’s place from someone saying they were “Jack Wilson from BT” wanting to chat about her “internet and computer stuff” - problem is, she never had a computer. When I called him out on it, he just went quiet, probably thought I’d hung up. My nan was 89 and quite vulnerable, she might have easily been tricked if she’d still been here. Properly dodgy behaviour!Jack WilsonBT9 yearsI just got a call from someone talking about issues with my internet, sounded dodgy to me. Pretty sure it was a scam.9 yearsEarlier today at precisely 15:35, I received a rather dubious call from a woman who identified herself as Nancy, sporting what sounded like an Indian accent. Immediately, my instincts kicked in, as I'm well aware my telephone services aren't with BT. She claimed that my internet speed was subpar and insisted I switch on my computer so she could guide me through some improvements. I expressed my scepticism regarding her affiliation with BT, to which she retorted that my disbelief was of no concern to her. I pointed out that it was rather implausible for someone from BT to conduct themselves in such a manner, and just like that, she hung up on me!NancyBT9 yearssomeone just rang me pretending they were from british telecom saying my internet would be cut off starting today (27/6/17). since i'm not even a bt customer, i ended the call straight away. this sounded dodgy to me.BTSubmit Your Own Report (01874 985241)
