I got a call from this number today, 12/12/2017, just after 9am. A bloke with a strong foreign accent was talking really fast, saying something about nuisance calls and offering some kind of system to help stop them. He claimed he wasn’t trying to sell anything, but weirdly he already knew our names, address, and even the expiry date on our debit card. He asked us to confirm that was how we pay for our phone line! It felt off, so I just ended the call.

Got a call today around 12:39 from a man with an Asian accent who said he was from BT. When I asked why he was calling since I’m not a BT customer, he just ended the call. I used to be with BT and once had to call them about a fault; the agent, who sounded Indian, was eager to get my mobile to send confirmation of an engineer’s visit. Never received the text, and no engineer showed up. After that, I started getting flooded with scam calls. I complained to BT, but they wouldn’t take any blame. I’ve switched to PlusNet now and wouldn’t go near BT again with a ten foot pole.

Got a call at quarter past ten today from someone claiming to be BT. They said a person in California was monitoring all my internet activity, passwords and had full access to my info. They asked me to log onto my internet so they could guide me through fixing it. I politely declined and said I’d ring BT myself to sort it out. Unsurprisingly, they ended the call straight away! The woman on the line had an Asian accent and there was loads of background chatter, like other people talking - definitely not what you'd expect from a legit call centre.

I had a go at answering but my phone’s call blocker stopped it straight away. The area code shows it’s a Truro Cornwall number. Reading the other comments, it's clear this needs to be reported to Action Fraud, the regulator, BT and Devon & Cornwall Police. I reckon the more of us who stand up and even inform our MPs, the better chance we have of stopping this. Feels terrible for those who aren’t as aware or for vulnerable elderly folks who might get fooled.

I got a call from someone with a strange accent claiming to be from BT, saying my internet was going to be cut off the next day. Spoke with a chap called "Kevin" from "BT Telecom" earlier, who was keen to find out how I was doing. Bit odd, as "Kevin" sounded like he had a strong Indian accent? Maybe it was his first day, cos there was loads of noise and people chatting behind him. Got a call this morning around 10:40 from an Asian bloke saying he's with BT security. He tried to convince me to install TeamViewer on my computer, saying that someone else was using my IP address.
