I didn’t answer because the number was unfamiliar to me, and I have no clue who was calling. After looking at what others said, it looks like it might be some sort of telemarketer trying to scam. This isn’t the first occasion I’ve seen this number pop up on my phone either.

I picked up since the number was local here in Cornwall. But the fella on the phone sounded like he wasn’t from around here at all! He started asking if I’d been getting loads of irritating calls. I told him “Just yours, mate!” and he ended up hanging up on me, ha! Next time I’m gonna keep him chatting longer and waste some more of his time.

Some scammer rang my elderly mum pretending to offer a ‘better call blocking’ service than BT. They started asking for her bank info, and when she tried to question them, they rudely told her to be quiet. Mum reckoned the callers sounded like they were from the sub-continent - she honestly said Pakistani, but I’m trying to be a bit more polite about it. She ended up calling me, upset and in tears. If you get these sorts of calls, I’d say either waste their time if you can, or just give them a piece of your mind if you’re short on patience.
