Not exactly sure what his angle was but this bloke claimed he was calling from EDF, asking me to confirm my meter info. He said there was a mix-up and I was being charged by a different company in a different area altogether. When I refused to give out my email since they already send my bills there, he got a bit annoyed. I told him I’d just looked up his phone number online and it flagged up as a scam. He admitted a few others had said the same this morning, so it must be legit. I told him if he really is from EDF, he should be glad I’m being cautious and then he just hung up on me.

Got a call from this number and they were so pushy, trying nonstop to get me on the line. From what I’ve read in other reviews, it’s definitely a scam. I picked up once, but caught on immediately so I didn't even chat with them and just ended the call. After that, they kept ringing again and again until I had to block the number altogether. It’s really quite pathetic how far some folks go just to scam people out of info or cash.

Somebody rang me from this number claiming to be from E.on, but something felt off, so I decided to ring E.on directly using the number on my bill. Turns out, it definitely wasn't them. Looks like they’re after your contract renewal info or something like that.

Apparently, there’s like 17 meters nearby and he didn’t want bills getting mixed up. I told him I’d verify it and ring him back. Then he went on about how I wouldn’t be able to call him back because his number was hidden as part of the billing team. Turns out, he didn’t even bother blocking his number - total muppet.

Got a call supposedly from our energy supplier about a problem with a meter reading dated 7th Nov that was apparently put on the wrong account. These calls have been coming through often before, but it’s been quiet for a while, so I thought they’d stopped. Of course, it’s definitely not from our supplier, and why on earth should we deal with someone else's account mistakes? I’ve blocked the number now, but I’m pretty sure they’ll just ring from a new one.

Got a call from someone saying he was Jason Patel with British Gas, using the number 01865 589997 - which I’m pretty sure isn’t their real contact. He told us that because energy prices are dropping, our firm's upcoming bill would be massive and wanted meter readings. Then he asked for our accountant. I've been getting calls like this a few times a day for the last few days. Seems like our number’s ended up with fraudsters. Just a heads up to watch out and block that number.

Got a call the other day from someone with an accent, sounded like they were in some busy call centre.
