I've received calls from various numbers purporting to be from HMRC. Occasionally, I end up speaking to a person, but most times, it’s just a robotic voice blaring into the receiver. I encountered a similar message with this particular number. After all the ominous threats they rattled off, the parting words were "take care!" as if the HMRC would genuinely sign off with that. It gave me a chuckle, but it’s quite concerning that someone might actually get duped by this nonsense.

Had a really intimidating ring from HMRC, they said I had to get in touch with a Dennis Gray or I'd be up against legal trouble and criminal charges! Proper frightening stuff!

Got a call from a bloke with a strong accent claiming he was from HMRC. He started asking for all sorts of personal info, even stuff about my solicitor, telling me there’s some fraud case underway against me. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Loads of scam callers claiming to be from HMRC keep ringing me from all sorts of numbers. They just won't stop! Just a heads up, HMRC would never leave a voicemail like that, so don't bother calling them back.

Got this creepy robot message telling me to get in touch with some officer Dennis Gray right away or I'd be hit with criminal charges. Seriously, what a joke. Don’t waste your time, these nutters. I’ve blocked the number for good.

Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, so I called them back just to check. They started asking about my solicitor’s address and mentioned they could give me a free government one instead. Didn’t trust it at all, so I just blocked the number.

I received a rather alarming automated call from what claimed to be HMRC, insisting I return the call immediately due to it being "urgent and time-sensitive." The robotic voice warned me that if I didn’t get back to them or have my solicitor do so, I should "brace myself for legal repercussions." The tone was rather more severe than I've conveyed here, but I’m cautious not to misquote them. While I’ve encountered similar calls before and can chuckle at them, I can’t help but think about those who might find such calls genuinely distressing. I did feel a strong urge to ring them back and give them a piece of my mind, but I reckon this is merely a tactic to reel in unsuspecting individuals, probably hoping they’ll end up paying excessive amounts for what might just be an ordinary landline. I've certainly taken the step of blocking that number!
