I didn’t pick up at first, but as soon as I hung up they called me again right away. When they rang a second time, I tried calling them back but it just rang once and then went dead, no voicemail or anything.

So some bloke called me up, knew my name straight away and told me I was due a tax refund of £733. Then he asked for my Visa or Mastercard info to send me the money. No checks or anything to prove I was actually me. When I said no and explained that tax refunds don’t get handed out like that here, he got really annoyed and said either I wasn’t living in this country or I just didn’t understand how it works. Then he just hung up on me. Proper scam if you ask me.
