Got a call from 01865264200 just now - it was a recorded voice sounding really harsh, saying if I don’t deal with this call there’ll be legal trouble and my National Insurance number might get blocked due to some tax issue from 2019. The message told me to press 1 to talk to an agent. I just ended the call. Sounds like a proper scam to me, could scare anyone who’s not expecting it given how forceful it was.

Wasnt picking up but the number came up as ‘Oxford Courts’ on Google - did some searching and it looks like a scam to me, got a call around the same time last week from 'Northampton Courts' as well, so must mean my number’s been handed around and scammers have it now! You’d never get a phone call about your NI number being nicked or court stuff - they’d always send a proper letter, so don’t get tricked!

Got a recorded voice message threatening to “suspend my national insurance number.” Funny thing is, how can you suspend a number that just proves you live in the UK? Like I’m supposed to vanish or something? Anyway, I pressed one to get through to an operator. A bloke named “David” came on and I asked what I supposedly did to be dragged into magistrates court. He asked for my name, so I told him, “You called me, surely you know it already?” Then he goes, “Am I speaking to *my name*?” I cracked up and said, “So you do know who I am then.” Next thing, he just hung up. They can’t even be bothered to carry on with their little con. Honestly, people should stop just ignoring these calls. Pick up and mess with them a bit. Show these scammers how pathetic they really are - might make them stop altogether.

Got a call and, just for a giggle, I hit 1. Let the bloke carry on for a bit, then told him I was a criminal defence lawyer, so I kinda knew what he was on about. Before hanging up, he said, “You’re a right pain, but that’s the funniest call I’ve had in ages.” Made me chuckle!

On Saturday around 1:17 pm I got a call too, but they didn’t leave any message. My phone was actually off since I rarely use it during the weekends. I checked the number and it claims to be from the court, but honestly, I’ve got nothing going on that would explain a court call, especially from somewhere miles away. They rang me at 7:30 this morning telling me I had to pay a £1000 tax fine within 20 mins or I'd get arrested. I actually do have some debt but I called my council to check who these people were since I already have a payment plan sorted. They told me it’s probably a scam, as the court wouldn’t phone you if you’re on a payment arrangement. Also, the lady who called was quite rude and didn’t seem to speak proper English, so watch out.

Got a robotic call telling me that ignoring it might be seen as some sort of wilful neglect or whatever, and that my National Insurance might be at risk. They rattled off a ridiculously long "case number" super quick that was impossible to follow and then said to press 1 to talk to an officer. The bloke didn’t sound very legit, so when he started asking me security questions, I said I wasn’t happy with it and asked for some documents to be sent instead. Suddenly, his mood flipped and he just snapped “call the police then” before hanging up.
