Haha, I reckon they overlooked the fact that the caller ID shows exactly where they say they’re ringing from. It's pretty daft to believe a big bank would have a fraud department based in Ballachulish, which is just a tiny village up in the Scottish Highlands. Obviously, the scammers aren’t physically there - it’s just a fake number they’re using. They rang me twice, even after I told them off in not-so-polite terms. Pretty clueless lot. Classic scam call, this one.

I've been getting loads of calls claiming something about an Amazon order and some bank transfer stuff. It's happened quite a few times now. I usually just let the phone go to voicemail if I don't know who’s ringing, which is most of the time. These calls are happening almost every day at this point. You’d think the phone company could just block the numbers once people report them as annoying or spam calls, right? Seems like they should be able to do something about it.

Got a voicemail saying there’s been two withdrawals from my bank account, one for £300 and another for £1000. It told me to press 1 if I wanted to stop the payment, or else it’d just go ahead. The £300 was charged to Amazon, and the £1000 was for some kind of international transfer.
