Pretty clear it’s a rubbish scam attempt. If they managed to trick even one person out of 10,000 they’d be lucky.

Think about it, any call where they don’t leave a voicemail is definitely dodgy! EE would never use a third party reseller like that, knowing how many scammers are about in the UK. Silent calls with no message just freak people out and make them nervous - not something a company would want for their customers. The best thing to do is report it to ACTION FRAUD on 0300 123 2040 or check their website for info. With all the scams going on these days, we really shouldn’t have to answer calls from unknown numbers - the laws seriously need updating to keep us safe.

I received two calls from this number yesterday, claiming to be from EE and presenting various gifts as incentives.

Got two calls from this number today and also got a text saying my EE monthly direct debit payment failed. But that's not correct because the payment due date on my contract isn’t until later. The message said: [EE]: We couldn’t take your most recent bill payment. To stop any extra charges, please update your payment details using the link they sent. I’m so suspicious of it! Feels like a total scam to me.

Sounds like a genuine call from EE, but something about it feels a bit off to me. The way they were chatting was pretty casual and they kept trying to push deals on what I already have (which EE normally pester me about non-stop). I’m a bit wary to say yes just in case it’s dodgy.

Got a call from someone saying they were with EE and had some loyalty offer for me. They wanted my full name and the phone model I was using. When I told them the model, they said it didn’t match their details, which made me suspicious. I cut the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they were with EE. They wanted my last name, what kind of phone I had, and where I’d got it from. Then they tried to get me to give my address, but I told them no way - if they were legit, they’d already have that info. After a bit of a pause, the bloke just said "Alright then" and ended the call. Definitely a scam, watch out!
