I received a phone call from someone purporting to represent 118 118, who insisted they could help update our complimentary listing. However, the information they had was all over the place and didn’t match any of my details. I found their approach rather dodgy, so I opted to block their number. This caller was incredibly insistent and, to be honest, it wasn't the first time they had tried to reach me.

Received a call from someone claiming to be Mark from 118118, who insisted on updating our complimentary listing. However, he provided an utterly wrong business address that immediately raised my eyebrows. When I requested a callback number to verify his identity, he handed me 08002118349, but that line is simply non-functional. It’s obvious this was a scam call.

I recently had a call from 118 Business Directory Enquiries. I chose not to respond to their questions, yet they simply aimed to verify that our business information was accurate - they actually read out the details to confirm. There’s really no need to fret, but it’s worth noting that scammers are quite clever and can easily mimic the same number to deceive you. So do stay vigilant!

I received a phone call at my workplace, which happens to be the reception of a company. The caller seemed rather clueless about who they were representing and requested my name. I wasn't comfortable disclosing that, so then they proceeded to ask about my place of birth. Quite frankly, that’s irrelevant to my job, so I decided to end the conversation.

What an absolute nuisance these folks are! They just refuse to take a hint, it seems. I've tried all manner of ways to communicate, but they're totally baffled by proper English, Doric, or even just everyday chit-chat.

I received a recorded message that claims to be from a charity. They urged me to return the call to the same number if I wish to cease any future communications. Quite puzzling, I must say!
