I didn’t answer cause it was already 10pm here in the UK and 11pm where I’m staying abroad. Who calls so late just to try and scam someone? Proper rude!

My phone rang from a number I didn’t recognise, so I just let it go to voicemail. It stopped ringing after only a few seconds and didn’t leave a message. Looks like another spammer, so I’ve blocked it now.

This number 01822300024 kept ringing me, once yesterday at 3.21pm then again today around 4.36pm. I decided to keep an eye on it until the calls finally stopped. Didn’t want to reject it in case that just made them call more hahaha!

I got a call from 01822300024 but when I tried returning it, the phone just rang a couple of times and then cut off. I've noticed these numbers usually have loads of zeros in the middle (like xxxxxx00000x). They’re pretty easy to spot, so I’d avoid answering if I were you.

O2, you say? I'm not convinced! The person on the other end was definitely up to no good and quite the deceiver! It felt like they were fishing for confidential contract details.

A couple of comments down explain how we can actually put a dent in these scams and why just blocking numbers might not cut it. Reporting these calls is just as quick as leaving a comment here, so it ain’t a big ask. You won’t see results overnight, but right now the cops haven’t got a clue how wide this scam is or what the newest tricks are. If folks keep ignoring the calls or just blocking without telling anyone, and don’t bother complaining to their local MP, then nothing will change and these con artists will keep ripping people off.
