1 yearGot a call earlier claiming my washing machine’s warranty was about to expire. They couldn’t even get the make or model right, which made me suspicious. Not sure if it’s a scam, but I’d lean towards yes!2 yearsThey tried to scam me saying I’d splashed out £600 on Airbnb and nearly £940 at JD Sports. Didn’t wait around - rang my bank straight after and got a replacement card sorted. Definitely a dodgy call!AirbnbJD Sports3 yearsI’m a bit puzzled about why they called, especially since I never shared any of my details. Still, it’s kinda worrying that they somehow got hold of my number.3 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be from Nationwide, telling me there was suspicious activity on my account. It felt a bit dodgy, so I ended the call and told them I’d look into it online and ring back if needed. Checked my account and everything was fine, so clearly just a scam trying to trick me.Nationwide4 yearsThey said they were calling from Nationwide Building Society.Nationwide Building Society4 yearsI got a call from someone claiming I had direct debit payments to Carphone Warehouse coming out of my account. I told him that can’t be right, especially as my partner and I checked our joint account through the app and found nothing linked to Carphone Warehouse. He kept pushing but I ended the call. After that, he kept ringing me non-stop. So I decided to call Nationwide Bank to check. The lady there said that they don’t make personal calls about fraud - they use automated voice messages instead. She was really helpful and confirmed this was likely a scam. When I first called about the number, she told me to just ignore it, block it, or contact my phone provider. I’m really glad I spoke to the real bank. If you get calls from this number, best to not answer and block it, and definitely let Nationwide know.Carphone WarehouseNationwide Bank4 yearsI got a call from someone claiming they were from Nationwide security.Submit Your Own Report (01793 656788)
