I've taken the liberty of reporting them to the Information Commissioner's Office. I've received two calls regarding mis-sold PPI so far. I've attempted to reach out through their website, but my messages aren't getting through. I've also notified the TPS and ICO about this situation. The caller is Falcon and Pointer based in Swansea.

This number keeps ringing my elderly mum. After some dodgy calls before, I told her not to pick up unless she’s waiting for someone. I found the number by using 1471. One time, I did answer and the bloke started talking about a bank refund, so I just hung up. Mum’s on the TPS, but honestly, reporting it feels pointless as they never seem to do anything about it.

I experienced something rather similar earlier today. A call from 01792 917637 came through, and it was a pre-recorded voice informing me that there had been an overcharge from my bank, and that I had eight weeks to reclaim my funds. I was instructed to press 1 if I had previously contacted my bank or 9 if I hadn’t. Honestly, I didn’t fall for any of that! I have a strong hunch it was just a ploy to connect me to a premium rate number that would have racked up quite the bill.

I didn’t stick around to find out the details since it was just a pre-recorded message, and I’ve made it a habit to hang up straight away. I make sure to report all these unwanted calls straight to the ICO through their site. The ICO has been cracking down and fining firms like this lately, but they really need more people to report. At about 9.05 this morning, I got a call from 01792917637. I’m always suspicious of numbers I don’t recognise, so I answered with a simple ‘Hello?’. Straight away, it switched to an automated message. I stayed on the line, hoping there'd be an option to press a button to opt out or stop further calls. The message claimed I was owed a refund for bank charges and told me to press 5 to claim it, but it didn’t say which bank was supposed to be giving me this money. I hung up once it finished. Don’t be fooled by this nonsense - it’s clearly a scam.
