I got a call from this number with some bloke saying he was from an insurance firm and wanted to go over my life insurance details. I told him I didn’t have any life insurance and wasn’t interested in getting any. After that, he just ended the call.

(2 of 2) Basically, when the business is closed down, there’s no money left, so any forms you fill out to get paid are pointless. Don’t bother wasting your time. One of these firms was showing a debt of around £100,000 on paper! Nothing stops these people from setting up new businesses and pulling the same trick over and over. On 21st December 2016, Darren Palmer and Stephen Davies pulled the same stunt again. They’ve shut down their firm and disappeared with the cash. Their employees were meant to get paid on that day, leaving them with no money for Christmas gifts, food, and in some cases, even rent or mortgage bills. Back in mid June, I got caught out by this scam and ended up paying £699 for surveys on a couple of properties (they had a cheeky £50 off but it didn’t help). They did the surveys but we’ve not had any reports back or managed to get hold of REC Home Audits since then. It's now with the bank's section 75 team sorting things out.

Rec Home Audits from Renewables Energy Centre in Swansea have reportedly been busted and arrested for fraud. I just spoke with Trading Standards and they backed this up. They told me to get in touch with my bank straight away to try and recover my money. Honestly, I’m planning to post this warning everywhere I can because it’s disgusting how they’re preying on vulnerable people like this. Absolute lowlifes.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be from 'Home Deliveries' and asking for me by my full name. I told the caller I was in the lantern room up at the lighthouse and that I would send someone down to get me. Just as I was about to play the next trick - putting him on hold with a never-ending loop of a robotic Greensleeves tune - the caller hung up!

I’ve dealt with this lot way too many times now. I paid them £300, but when I asked for a refund, they said no because apparently I received my paperwork via recorded delivery and opened it, so they won’t refund me. What a load of rubbish. They’ve basically ripped off me and my disabled husband, and I’m not letting it go. I even tried visiting their office, but surprise surprise, it was shut. Next step is getting my bank involved to reverse the charge. Be warned, these guys are scammers. I’ve also reported them to trading standards, citizens advice, watchdog, the ferret, xray, and the fraud squad - they all have my complaints. I won’t stop until they’re held accountable.

They’re basically scammers pretending to help with government grants, but all they really do is charge £399 for connecting you with a green deal provider. You can contact those companies on your own without paying a penny. Don’t fall for it and hand over your £399. Also, don’t pay attention to what they say in their reviews here.

I got a call from someone wanting to speak to my wife about a new boiler. I asked where they’d got my number from, and they said it came from some company that my wife supposedly did a survey with. I told him I don’t do surveys since they just lead to annoying calls like this. He insisted on talking to my wife and even asked who I was and what my role was in the house. I had to explain that my wife died almost three years ago, so whoever gave him my details must have been giving him wrong info, probably for a fee. Despite that, he kept pushing, aggressively asking why I wasn’t interested in a boiler replacement and why I don’t take surveys. I got so fed up I just hung up.

Just got a couple of calls from them today, first one was around 9 in the morning luckily I wasn’t working a night shift, then another at 12:40 in the afternoon. You can actually hear the answerphone message, near the end it says to email them and opt out, but honestly it’s pointless, that option doesn’t do anything. Apparently it’s some company pushing boilers. What baffles me is, if you’re on the do not call list, why on earth are they still ringing you?

Got a ring from this number today but I didn't pick up. There’s just so many random calls these days. We’ve actually started using Caller ID on our landline now. Whenever it’s someone we want to hear from, I save their number and name in the phone. Then when they call, their name shows up on the screen along with the number - kind of like how a mobile phone works. So if no name appears, I just don’t bother answering. And no voicemail either, so no awkward messages left behind - honestly, it’s a relief!

Got a call out of the blue and the bloke was really rude. I told him I was on the no call list, but he just brushed it off like it made no difference.
