On the 10th of December 2020, at about 2.58 in the afternoon, I got a call from a woman claiming to be part of a government program. She asked if I was interested in getting loft insulation. I told her no thanks, we’re alright without it. Then she just hung up on me.

He claimed he was ringing from the government about a free loft insulation deal. When I asked what he was actually selling, he said he wasn’t selling anything just informing me about the scheme. I replied, so you’re a government worker then? and he just put the phone down! This has happened like twenty or thirty times now.

Got a call saying it was from the ‘UK Govt green initiative’ asking how old my loft insulation was. I asked the bloke to be upfront. He said maybe they’d put some new stuff in since, but they couldn’t be sure. I told him I knew these cold calls were usually scams. He just went, “Really?”

So, this bloke called me saying he was Luke and wanted to talk about my loft insulation. When I asked who he was representing, he just cut me off. Interestingly, I got a similar call yesterday but from a different guy and number, and the outcome was pretty much the same. They got the whole loft insulation thing wrong and it has nothing to do with my place. These calls all came to my landline, which I’ve had on the TPS list for more than a year now.

They keep ringing about loft insulation over and over. I told them I already have Celotex insulation and a plastered ceiling in my loft conversion, so no thanks and to stop calling me. This call centre keeps phoning about loads of different deals, really annoying. They get quite rude if you say no and completely ignore the TPS list. They even change their records if you give them any info, even if it’s incorrect. I’d say this call centre is quite sketchy as they’ve broken the Data Protection laws and the government’s TPS rules loads of times. They just won’t stop ringing, bothering people who are probably vulnerable.

Some lady named Christine rang me, said she was from Insulation UK. Told her we’re on the TPS and she just hung up. I reported it to TPS but they said the number doesn’t exist and couldn’t track down the company. My neighbour got a call from them too.

Someone rang about a government insulation help thing. I told them with all the stuff happening now, insulation wasn’t really on my mind and ended the call. They rang back three more times, and when I picked up the third time, the bloke started yelling at me, saying I’d been rude. I asked why the call was necessary and he said he was the manager. I just hung up. He tried calling twice more after that. Had a proper English accent. Really cheeky and unpleasant.
