I received a call from someone claiming to be from Sky TV, insisting that my Sky card needed an update. They then had the audacity to request my bank sort code to supposedly carry out this change. At that moment, I realised something was off and promptly ended the call. I mean, Sky already has all my information, so this has to be a scam, right?

Got a call from this number today, I answered with a hello. Then after a short pause, there was like a double beep sound and a robotic voice came on saying goodbye. Strange!

Someone claiming to be from BT tech support called me. I got suspicious while chatting, so I quickly searched online for BT tech support numbers. Turns out, it was a scam like I thought. I calmly told the caller I knew it was a scam, and I felt a bit sorry since I guess he’s just trying to make a living, even if it’s a dodgy way. I also mentioned that most of us can’t risk being scammed these days. Then I wished him well and ended the call!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying my broadband was about to be cut off because there had been some suspicious attempts to get into my router. He said I'd be receiving a letter soon, maybe today or tomorrow. Then his supervisor, who said her name was Kate, rang me and gave me a number to check: 0203 2899604 - and even gave me a "unique BT number" which definitely wasn’t my real BT account number. They told me to open the C:/ prompt on my PC or something. The call came from 01784 279713. These scammers are getting clever, so watch out!

I said "Hello" but got no answer. I could tell my call was getting transferred to some operator, so I ended it to avoid wasting any more time.

Got a call from a bloke who sounded Indian claiming he was from SKY. He went on about my SKY TV card expiring in 7 days. I gave him my name, address and postcode just to see where it was going. I told him all that was right but I don't actually have SKY. After a bit of awkward silence, he just dropped the line!

Got a call from an Asian lady sayin my internet was gonna be disconnected in a couple days cuz of loads of harmful files detected! Her English was a bit better than the other call I got from 01489 481796, they were trying to sell a call blocking service. Definitely scammers trying to get info.

I've received a rather peculiar call, supposedly from BT, claiming there were multiple issues stemming from my computer-which, amusingly enough, isn't even powered on! They insisted that, despite not owning the device or paying for the internet, I must connect it immediately to allow them to 'resolve' the alleged problems, or face the grim prospect of my BT internet being cut off in the next two days. Quite a laugh, really, considering this household isn’t even a BT customer! This marks my fourth call from them in a week-honestly, it’s all rather absurd. I made it clear I would reach out to BT directly to verify this nonsense, yet the caller abruptly hung up. It's glaringly obvious that this is not BT, and I've taken the liberty of reporting the incident.

Got a call round 4.50pm, I picked up and after a couple of clicks a robotic female voice said "Goodbye" and then cut off! I've registered with the Telephone Preference Service but it looks like it doesn’t help much.

Got a call claiming to be BT saying my internet would be cut off due to some harmful files supposedly downloaded. Total scam, they want to grab info about your computer. The accent sounded like a call centre overseas. My advice? Don’t give them any info and honestly, just don’t pick up if ya can avoid it.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be Nathalie from BT's tech team. I told her this was the third time she’d called and it was really irritating. She denied it was annoying and insisted my internet would get cut off. I told her that was rubbish, then she called me silly and a bastard before just hanging up!

Got a call about changing the boiler, I told them nicely 'no thanks'. But they kept ringing me like 12 times after that, kept asking for my husband and getting his name wrong. They even kept telling me to ring ‘the doctor’. When I asked, they gave me a doctor’s name and the phone number for the local hospital’s switchboard. I guess they figured that out from my area code. Haven't had a call for a little bit now after I said ‘you told me to call the doctor, just leave it’. So annoying!

Cheers to this website and everyone’s feedback. I’ve now blocked that number. This morning, I got calls 9 times from what sounded like 3 or 4 different foreign accents but all from the same number. When I asked where they got my number from, they just hung up on me and went dead silent after I didn’t share any info. Proper dodgy.
