This has gotta be a scam for sure. I keep getting calls on Teams during work hours from them. I don’t handle any financial stuff at my job, so theres no way they’d reach out to me about a proper debt. So, just to clear things up, this number isn't some kind of scam, it's actually a debt collector. They got in touch with me because when I swapped my car in part exchange at a garage, they never sorted out sending off the V5 logbook. Because of that, the DVLA fined me for not taxing the vehicle. On Friday 8th August 2025, I got a call from this number +44 178 240 1192 and it was a total scam warning! The caller pretended to be from the DVLA but it’s actually a phishing attempt. Got a voicemail earlier today saying I apparently owe some kind of debt, never said how much or what for, and they said they were from Advantis. We've had calls on our home phone from these people about 3 or 4 times over the past week. They say they're from a debt agency and are checking up on letters supposedly sent before. The thing is, we never got any letters about any debt (which we don't owe), and we never share our landline number with anyone either. Honestly, it sounds like a total scam to me!

I got a couple of calls from what seems to be a proper debt firm. They left me two voicemail messages along with their website info. Took me about 20 minutes before I called back and finally got through. Spoke to a young woman who confirmed they had left me the two messages but no ref number was given. She looked into it but said there was no account linked to my phone number. The company's called Adventis and they handle debts like parking tickets and speeding fines. I reckon you shouldn’t just brush them off, better to get it sorted out.
